Miranda appears set to begin the season at Triple-A barring an injury elsewhere on the roster, so it will be interesting to see if he's limited to first base in the minors as well.

Undergoing shoulder surgery Miranda will undergo surgery on his injured right shoulder Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Impact Miranda is having a consultation Wednesday before undergoing the procedure Thursday. More information regarding the exact nature of the operation and a potential rehab timetable is expected after the surgery, but at the very least it's going to end his 2023 campaign. Miranda has been sidelined since mid-July right shoulder impingement.

Impact Miranda received a platelet-rich plasma injection for his injured right shoulder in mid-July. He's finally showing some signs of improvement and said he hopes to begin a rehab assignment in three weeks. He finished June with a .287/.362/.436 slash line while striking out just 17 times in 23 games, and Miranda should now get another chance to step in as the Twins' primary option at third base while Lewis is on the mend.
