Earns save Sunday
Romano earned the save Sunday against Cleveland after tossing a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.
Impact
Romano entered the game with a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning and closed things out despite the fact that he allowed a one-out single to Josh Naylor. The right-hander has gone 3-for-4 in save chances this season and has also tossed six straight scoreless appearances, posting a 10:1 K:BB during that stretch (6.0 innings).

Notches second save
Romano pitched a perfect seventh inning Thursday while striking out one to record the save in the first game of a doubleheader against the Yankees.
Impact
Romano picked up the Blue Jays first save in nearly two weeks. He got the call over Rafael Dolis, who blew a save and took the loss on May 20 against Boston. After Thursday's outing, Romano has fired five scoreless innings on only one hit and one walk while striking out nine in his last five appearances. He has a 2.04 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.

Earns save Tuesday
Romano allowed a hit and walked a batter but also recorded a strikeout en route to his first save of 2021 in a 5-3 win over Atlanta on Tuesday.
Impact
Romano punched out Ozzie Albies to begin the ninth but eventually found himself in some danger with runners on first and second before getting Ehire Adrianza to fly out to end the game. The 28-year-old was roughed up in his initial outing from the injured list on April 24 but has since settled in nicely with a pair of wins, a hold and now a save while giving up just one run and owning a 5:1 K:BB over his last six innings. He's set to be the Blue Jays' primary closer once again with both Rafael Dolis (calf) and Julian Merryweather (oblique) on the injured list.

Records win in extras
Romano (2-1) fired a perfect 10th inning while striking out one Saturday to earn the win over Atlanta.
Impact
Romano was able to prevent the runner at second base from scoring and struck out Austin Riley for the last out of the inning. His ERA is down to 2.70 in 6.2 innings. If the 28-year-old can put together more solid performances like this, there is a chance he could earn back some future save opportunities.

Takes first relief loss
Romano (2-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on two walks while recording only one out, taking the loss to the Rays on Saturday.
Impact
Romano struggled with his command in his first appearance back after being reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He had more walks (2) than outs (1). If he can get back to 2020 form when he had a 1.23 ERA, he could be back in a high-leverage relief role.

Reinstated from 10-day IL
Romano (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.
Impact
Romano will return to the Blue Jays' bullpen after he spent the minimum of 10 days on the injured list due to right elbow neuritis. The right-hander should now be in the mix for closing duties for Toronto since manager Charlie Montoyo hasn't yet settled on a clear ninth-inning option. Prior to his injury, Romano posted a 2.70 ERA and 2.10 WHIP in 3.1 innings.
