Impact The Diamondbacks placed Nelson on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Sept. 11, and will need a fill-in starter for at least two turns of the rotation. Montgomery's most recent outing was Wednesday, when he recorded a three-inning save. Since being moved to the bullpen in late August, the left-hander made four relief appearances, totaling 13 innings. Nelson had been scheduled to start Monday or Tuesday, and Montgomery should get one of those days, although it's unclear if he's ramped up enough to give them five innings.
