Optioned to Triple-A The Blue Jays optioned Clase to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

Impact He was acquired by Toronto on Friday as part of the package for Yimi Garcia, and the 22-year-old Clase will now return to Triple-A to begin his tenure with the Blue Jays organization. He has slashed .274/.373/.483 with 10 homers and 34 RBI through 280 plate appearances in the minors this season and could earn a spot in Toronto's outfield later in the year, especially if the Jays finally part ways with Kevin Kiermaier. Lands with Blue Jays The Blue Jays acquired Clase and Jacob Sharp from the Mariners in exchange for Yimi Garcia, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Clase, 22, has managed just a .452 OPS in 19 games with the Mariners this season but has slashed .274/.373/.483 with 10 home runs and 26 stolen bases at Triple-A Tacoma. He is capable of playing all three outfield spots and will be under team control for several years.

Singles in Monday's start Clase started in left field and went 1-for-3 in a loss to the Angels on Monday.

Impact The rookie was in the starting nine for the first time since July 11 -- the first appearance of his current big-league stint -- and as he did in that contest, he commemorated the opportunity with a single. Clase figures to continue seeing occasional opportunity in right field while Dominic Canzone (thigh) remains sidelined, but Monday's start saw him slot into left field as part of the domino effect of the absence of Julio Rodriguez (ankle), who is considered day-to-day.

Singles, scores in majors return Clase, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, went 1-for-4 with a run in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Impact Clase didn't appear in Wednesday's series finale against the Padres, but he logged his first big-league plate appearances since May 27 in the lopsided victory. The promising prospect, who's helping fill in while Dominic Canzone (groin) is on the injured list, is looking to narrow the gulf between his performance at Triple-A and the big-league level after producing just a .176 average and .406 OPS in his first 15 games of major-league action prior to Thursday.

Back in majors The Mariners recalled Clase from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Impact He's taking the roster spot of the injured Dominic Canzone (groin) and could see some playing time in the outfield with Canzone banged up. Clase has struggled in his brief time with the big club, producing a .406 OPS over 35 plate appearances.

On bench again Clase is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Impact Clase will take a seat for a third straight game while the Mariners roll with Luke Raley and Mitch Haniger as their starters in the corner-outfield spots. Since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma on April 15, Clase has appeared in six games and has gone 5-for-20 with three RBI, one run and two stolen bases. The speedy 21-year-old initially looked on track to handle a regular role in the outfield following Dominic Canzone's (shoulder) placement on the injured list, but Clase may instead be part of a timeshare with Raley in left field.

Will receive regular playing time Clase will start in left field and bat eighth in Monday's game versus the Reds.

Impact It will be the major-league debut of Clase, who was recalled earlier Monday to take Dominic Canzone's (shoulder) spot on the roster. According to Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM, Mariners manager Scott Servais said Monday that Clase will play while he's with the big club, so it sounds like he could see the lion's share of starts in left field while Canzone is out. The 21-year-old has slashed .311/.396/.622 with two homers, three steals and a 12:7 K:BB with Triple-A Tacoma this season and is worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.

Reaches 30-steal mark at Double-A Clase has a .222/.337/.429 slash line with nine home runs, 30 steals and a 30.5 percent strikeout rate in 53 games for Double-A Arkansas.

Impact The switch-hitting center fielder capitalized on the hitter-friendly park at High-A Everett and a fortunate .423 BABIP to slash .333/.453/.701 in 21 games for the AquaSox, but this run at Double-A is a more telling sample for the 21-year-old. His elite speed will keep him on the dynasty radar even when he is struggling at the dish, and Clase's patience and power at the plate takes some pressure off his hit tool.

Slow start at Double-A Clase is hitting .217 with one home run, 10 steals and a 31.5 percent strikeout rate in 12 games since getting promoted to Double-A Arkansas.

Impact The speedy outfielder, who turns 21 next week, put up a .333/.453/.701 slash line while playing half his games in the hitter friendly park at High-A Everett before earning the promotion. Clase is already on the 40-man roster and should remain at Double-A for the rest of the season.

Optioned to High-A Clase was optioned to High-A Everett by the Mariners on Friday.

Impact Clase is a highly regarded outfield prospect but doesn't have any experience above Single-A. The 20-year-old will look to take the next step in his development in 2023 after posting an .836 OPS with 55 steals in 65 attempts for Single-A Modesto in 2022.
