Posts quality start despite loss
Cueto (2-3) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Padres. He gave up three runs on five hits and one walk while fanning four across 6.1 innings.
Impact
Cueto got off to a strong start this season but ends the year on the wrong foot, allowing three or more runs in each of his last three starts. The veteran posted a 6.65 ERA in four September appearances and ends the year with a career-worst 5.40 ERA in 63.1 innings across 12 starts. Rough time against Rockies
Cueto (2-2) gave up seven runs on eight hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Rockies on Monday. He struck out four.
Impact
Cueto also hit a batter, and the 12 baserunners he allowed were too much for him to overcome when he didn't have his best stuff. He threw 59 of his 97 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has given up at least six runs in three of his last five starts to end the year in poor form. He now has a 5.53 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 52:25 K:BB across 57 innings and 11 starts this year. Cueto lines up for his last start of the regular season Saturday versus the Padres.

Start bumped back
Cueto will start Monday against the Rockies instead of Sunday against the Athletics as originally scheduled, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Cueto reportedly isn't injured, but the Giants felt that he needed a bit more time before his next outing. The decision means he'll have a chance to have a two-start week in the final week of the season, assuming he pitches one more time against the Padres next weekend.

Cueto was scheduled to start Friday before the game was postponed due to a positive test for COVID-19 from the Giants, but that result has since been declared a false positive. The vetean right-hander has a 4.56 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB through 47.1 innings this season.
