Tosses bullpen session Herget (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Impact Herget said that he felt "great" following the bullpen, which was his first since he went on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement June 22. The right-hander was originally expected to need close to a minimum stay on the IL, but continued discomfort necessitated a longer break from throwing. Herget is next expected to either toss another standard bullpen or progress to facing live hitters.

Nearing mound work Herget (shoulder) is slated to throw off a mound during the coming week, the Associated Press reports.

Impact Herget was placed on the 15-day IL on June 22 with a right shoulder impingement. He wasn't expected to be out long, but the right-hander suffered a setback in the final days of June and was subsequently shut down. He now appears just about ready to resume mound work, which should put him on track to return to the big-league club shortly after the All-Star break.

Suffers setback Herget has been shut down from throwing after continuing to feel discomfort in his injured right shoulder, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Impact Herget was placed on the injured list June 22 with a right shoulder impingement. The original expectation was that his injury wouldn't be long term, but it now appears likely that the right-hander won't be activated when first eligible July 7 given the setback. Herget posted a 3.72 ERA and 0.99 WHIP while collecting one save and two holds across 25 appearances before being sidelined.
