Sent out of big-league camp
Williams was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Williams put together a promising spring while with the big-league club, as he went 5-for-12 with two doubles, one triple, three RBI, two stolen bases and three runs in six games. After failing to secure a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster, Williams is slated to begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Nashville.

Returning to action Thursday
Williams (quadriceps) is slated to return to Cactus League play Thursday versus the Guardians, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Williams has been shelved for more than two weeks with a left quad injury but has improved enough to be cleared for game action. The 22-year-old was a long shot to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster, anyway, but the injury cinched it. Williams is slated to open the season as an everyday guy at Triple-A Nashville.

Managing sore quad
Williams said that he hasn't appeared in a Cactus League game since Monday due to left quadriceps soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Williams noted that he sustained the injury while legging out a triple in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Padres. The 22-year-old downplayed the severity of the issue and expressed confidence that he would be back in action in the coming days. Acquired from the Mets in January, Williams is getting a chance to stake his claim to a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster, but he's more likely to begin the season as an everyday player at Triple-A Nashville.

Will get spring reps at third base
Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold said Monday that Williams will be given some third-base reps during spring training, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Impact
Williams has yet to play third base at the professional level, but he's very familiar with the left side of the infield and has a plus arm, so it could be a smooth transition. The hot corner is now wide open for the Brewers after they traded Caleb Durbin and Andruw Monasterio to the Red Sox on Monday. While it's probably a long shot that Williams breaks camp as the starter at third base, showing he can handle the position would give him another path to playing time. The 22-year-old Williams was acquired from the Mets last in the deal that sent Freddy Peralta to New York.

Will focus on shortstop in spring
Williams said Monday that his positional focus heading into spring training will be at shortstop, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact
Acquired from the Mets last week in the Freddy Peralta trade, Williams' primary position so far in pro ball has been shortstop, but he's also played second base and center field and considers himself "pretty comfortable at all three positions now." Williams is likely to begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Nashville after hitting only .209/.285/.433at Triple-A Syracuse in 2025 following a late-season promotion. The 22-year-old could debut at some point during the upcoming season, likely either at shortstop or in center field.

Traded in Peralta deal
The Mets traded Williams to the Brewers on Wednesday alongside Brandon Sproat in exchange for Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
After posting an .867 OPS over 96 games with the Mets' Double-A affiliate, Williams received a promotion to Triple-A Syracuse in mid-August and slashed .209/.285/.433 with seven homers, 15 RBI and 21 runs scored across 151 plate appearances. The 22-year-old prospect doesn't own a 40-man roster spot, making it likely that he will report to Triple-A Nashville to begin his tenure with the Brewers, but he could be promoted sometime during the season if Joey Ortiz's offensive struggles carry into 2026.

Joining Triple-A
Williams is being promoted to Triple-A Syracuse, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.
Impact
Williams will move up to Triple-A after producing a .281 average with 10 home runs, 37 RBI, 70 runs scored and 32 stolen bases over 96 games with Double-A Binghamton this season. The 21-year-old is considered to be the Mets' top overall prospect, and he is now just one stop away from making his major-league debut.

Joining Triple-A
The Mets promoted Williams from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.
Impact
Williams will move up to Triple-A after slashing .281/.390/.477 with 10 home runs and 32 stolen bases over 96 games with Binghamton this season. Regarded as one of the Mets' top prospects, the 21-year-old Williams likely won't be in the mix for anything more than a September call-up, but he could emerge as an everyday player for the big club at some point in 2026.

Continues crushing ball
Williams went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, two triples, two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base for Double-A Binghamton on Thursday.
Impact
The 21-year-old top prospect has been simply destroying baseballs this week, going 8-for-15 over his last four games, and incredibly all eight knocks have gone for extra bases -- four double, two triples and two homers. Williams is blocked at his natural shortstop position by Francisco Lindor, but he's seen time at second base and center field this season, and the latter spot might provide his clearest path to a starting job in the majors for the Mets. Williams is slashing .298/.407/.530 for Binghamton with six homers, 18 steals and a 31:42 BB:K in 52 contests, and a promotion to Triple-A Syracuse seems imminent.

Overcomes injury
Williams (head) has gone 5-for-11 with two home runs, three doubles, three walks, four RBI and four runs in three starts since rejoining the Double-A Binghamton lineup Sunday.
Impact
After being pulled from a game last Friday after being hit on the helmet by a fastball in his first plate appearance of the night, Williams missed just one game before returning to action Sunday. The 21-year-old shortstop has exhibited no ill effects since his return and is now slashing .288/.397/.497 with six home runs and 17 stolen bases over 209 plate appearances on the season. A promotion to Triple-A Syracuse may not be too far down the road for Williams.
