Hit with tough-luck loss Luzardo was saddled with the loss in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Dodgers after allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five ac...
Impact Luzardo dealt with traffic in the first inning, surrendering a hit and a walk, but he managed to escape without giving up a run. He would proceed to fire four perfect innings, striking out four along the way. Luzardo again found trouble in the top of the seventh, giving up a pair of base knocks before being lifted from the game. Both of those runners would score later in the inning, holding Luzardo accountable for the loss. The southpaw is unlikely to be available for a start until Game 5, though it's possible he could eat an inning later in the week in LA.
OCTOBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Cruises to revenge win Luzardo (15-7) picked up the win in Wednesday's 11-1 rout of the Marlins, allowing one unearned run on three hits over seven innings. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.
Impact Facing the team that traded him back in December, Luzardo recorded his career-high 18th quality start of the season and seventh double-digit strikeout performance, fueling a career-high 216 in that category that has him tied for the NL lead with Paul Skenes and Logan Webb, although Webb is scheduled for one more start this weekend. With the Phillies having already clinched the NL East title and all but locked into a first-round bye in the playoffs, Luzardo will close out his regular season with a 3.92 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 216:57 K:BB over 183.2 innings.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Outdueled in Los Angeles Luzardo (14-7) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over seven innings.
Impact Luzardo was pretty good in the outing, and he appeared to have a quality start in the bag after tossing seven innings of three-run ball. However, he was allowed to face one final batter -- Shohei Ohtani -- to begin the eighth, and Ohtani took him deep to make the score 4-0. Luzardo did rack up a whopping 19 whiffs, though opposing starter Blake Snell outshined him with 24 whiffs and seven scoreless frames. Luzardo likely has one more regular-season start on tap, which is slated to come at home against Miami next week.
SEPTEMBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
Locks in after rough start Luzardo (14-6) earned the win Thursday against the Mets, allowing four runs on five hits and no walks in eight innings. He struck out 10.
Impact It looked as though Luzardo was on his way to a quick hook amidst an ugly start to his outing, as New York tagged him for four runs on five hits in the opening inning, but the hurler experienced a remarkable turnaround thereafter. Luzardo proceeded to pitch seven perfect innings from that point on, fanning double-digit batters for the sixth time this season to flummox the reeling Mets in his longest appearance of the campaign. A tough test against the Dodgers awaits the southpaw for his next scheduled start. Through 169.2 innings, Luzardo has a 4.03 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 200:56 K:BB.
SEPTEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE
Registers 13th victory Luzardo (13-6) earned the win over Miami on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.
Impact Though Luzardo issued four free passes, none of the batters he walked came around to score. The left-hander racked up 14 whiffs and eight punchouts while notching his seventh quality start across his past eight outings. During that stretch, Luzardo has posted a 2.64 ERA with a 54:13 K:BB over 47.2 innings. That's brought his season ERA down to 4.01 as he seeks to finish below the 4.00 mark for the third time in his past four campaigns.

SEPTEMBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Sharp in no-decision Luzardo allowed two hits and one walk while striking out seven over 6.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.
Impact Luzardo alternated between good and mediocre in August, but he was able to finish the month on a high note. Philadelphia couldn't maintain a 1-0 lead after Luzardo's exit, costing him the chance to earn his fourth win of the month. He gave up 12 runs over 34.2 innings while posting a 42:8 K:BB, turning things around in a big way after a much more shaky July. He's now at a 4.05 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 182:52 K:BB through 155.2 innings over 28 starts this season. The left-hander is lined up to make his next start on the road in Miami.
SEPTEMBER 1 • ROTOWIRE
Falters in fifth inning Tuesday Luzardo took a no-decision Tuesday against the Mets, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in four-plus innings. He struck out five.
Impact Luzardo made it through four scoreless innings to begin his outing, but the Mets got to him for four runs in the fifth frame. It was the southpaw's shortest start since July 4 against the Reds, which also disrupted his streak of five consecutive appearances of at least six innings. Luzardo has a 4.23 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 175:51 K:BB over 149 frames, and he's next set to take the ball against an Atlanta team that's slugging a pitiful .333 versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of August.

Stuck with loss Luzardo (11-6) took the loss Thursday against Washington, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out seven.
Impact Luzardo recorded his fourth consecutive quality start, but Thursday's outing was his first of that stretch to not result in a win. The left-hander seems to have left a late July blip, where he allowed 10 runs over 9.2 innings across two starts, in the rearview mirror. During his quality start streak, Luzardo has a 2.52 ERA and a 22:5 K:BB across 25 innings. Luzardo's next start is tentatively scheduled to come against the Mariners early next week.
AUGUST 15 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Luzardo gave up a run in the first frame but wasn't scored upon again in the outing. He notched a modest four punchouts but got key outs when needed and retired the final five batters he faced. Luzardo has picked up a quality start in each of his past three appearances, giving up just four runs across 19 innings during that span. The left-hander's victory Saturday was his 11th of the campaign, establishing a new career-high mark.

Impact Luzardo allowed three runs on a pair of early homers but bounced back with four perfect frames to match his career high with 10 wins. Cruises to easy win Luzardo (9-5) allowed two hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Tuesday, striking out four and earning a win over the White Sox.
Impact Luzardo worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning and didn't face much more trouble the rest of his impressive outing. It was a much-needed bounce-back performance after giving up a combined 10 runs in 9.2 innings over his previous two appearances. He threw 62 of 90 pitches for strikes but generated just six whiffs. Luzardo turned in a terrific 2.15 ERA through 67 innings to begin the year but has since produced a 7.00 ERA over his last 11 starts. He'll carry a 4.31 ERA and a 140:44 K:BB into his next matchup, which is projected to be at home against the Orioles next week.
JULY 30 • ROTOWIRE
Implodes in fifth inning Luzardo didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing six runs on two hits and five walks in five innings. He struck out seven.
Impact Luzardo's up-and-down season continued, as he surrendered at least five runs for the fourth time in his last 10 starts. He melted down during a calamitous fifth inning, when Boston drove in six runs on two hits and four walks in the frame. While the hard-throwing left-hander has fanned at least seven on six occasions across his last 10 outings, he's witnessed his ERA balloon from 2.15 on May 25 to 4.58 for the year following Wednesday's clunker. Luzardo has a 8.04 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 59:24 K:BB over his last 47 innings, and things may not get much easier his next time out against a White Sox team with a .827 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the start of July.
JULY 24 • ROTOWIRE
Fans seven in no-decision Luzardo came away with a no-decision in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Angels, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.
Impact The ball was flying out of Citizens Bank Park, with the two teams combining for six homers, and Luzardo served up two of them -- a solo shot by Jorge Soler in the second inning, and a two-run blast by Jo Adell in the fourth. The southpaw got the hook after an inefficient 92 pitches (53 strikes), and he continues to have trouble regaining the Cy Young form he was flashing to begin the season. While Friday's homers were the first Luzardo had allowed since June 17, he's walked multiple batters in four of six starts during that stretch, stumbling to a 4.45 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB in 30.1 innings. He'll try to get back on track in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Red Sox.
JULY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Rebounds vs. Giants Luzardo (8-5) earned the win Wednesday against the Giants, allowing three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
Impact It was a much-needed bounce-back effort from Luzardo, after he gave up six runs (five earned) in just two innings against the Reds in his last start. The southpaw had struggled to a 9.49 ERA in seven outings (30.1 innings) prior to Wednesday. Luzardo will finish an up-and-down first half of the season with a 4.14 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 122:36 K:BB across 19 starts (104.1 innings).
JULY 9 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles early in loss Luzardo (7-5) took the loss against the Reds on Friday, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over two innings.
Impact Luzardo was spotted a 3-0 lead in the first inning but unraveled in the third, failing to record an out while ultimately being charged with five runs in the frame. The southpaw had allowed just seven total earned runs over his previous four starts after reportedly correcting a pitch-tipping issue, but he's now surrendered at least four earned runs in four of his past seven outings. On the year, he owns a 4.44 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 115:35 K:BB across 97.1 innings and will try to rebound in a road matchup with the Giants next week.
JULY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Takes fourth loss Luzardo (7-4) allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss Saturday versus Atlanta.
Impact Luzardo wasn't great, but he did an effective job of limiting the damage in this start after giving up one run in each of the first two innings. He finished June with 15 runs allowed over 25 innings, though an eight-run meltdown June 5 skewed the numbers. He also posted a 30:10 K:BB this month, and while that's a little high on the walks side, he ranks both top-10 in strikeouts (111) and K/9 (10.48) so far this season. Luzardo's at a 4.06 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 95.1 innings across 17 starts, and he's tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Reds his next time out.

JUNE 29 • ROTOWIRE
Blanks Mets Luzardo (7-3) picked up the win Sunday against the Mets, allowing three hits and one walk over 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
Impact Luzardo has endured a roller coaster past month, allowing three or fewer runs in three of his six outings, but allowing eight or more runs twice. He was excellent Sunday, notching his first scoreless start since April 4 and picking up his second win in his last three appearances. Luzardo owns a 4.08 ERA and a 104:29 K:BB in 90.1 innings this season. He's tentatively scheduled to face Atlanta next weekend.
JUNE 23 • ROTOWIRE
Falls to former club Luzardo (6-3) took the loss Tuesday as the Phillies were downed 8-3 by the Marlins, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks over five-plus innings. He struck out four.
Impact The southpaw took a 3-2 lead into the sixth inning, but after walking the first two batters of the frame, Luzardo got the hook and watched Tanner Banks allow both inherited runners to cross the plate. Luzardo did rack up 32 called or swinging strikes among his 103 pitches, but only 59 total strikes as he had trouble putting batters away. It's the third time in his last six trips to the mound that he's walked multiple batters while failing to fan more than four, but he struck out 10 batters in the other three outings, all of which were quality starts. Luzardo will try to regain some consistency in his next turn, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Mets.
