GAME LOG

INJURIES

Allows two-run homer Hahn gave up two runs on two hits over one inning in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Cleveland. He was charged with a blown save.
Impact Hahn entered the game in the sixth inning and gave up a two-run homer to Jose Ramirez. Across four outings this season, Hahn has a save, a hold and a blown save. He's allowed three runs, four hits and two walks in 3.1 innings, which makes him a bit volatile early in the year. The 31-year-old isn't expected to be in the closing conversation this season, but he could still see some work in high-leverage situations.

Notches first save Hahn earned the save by allowing one walk and one hit in a scoreless inning Monday against Cleveland.
Impact Hahn issued a walk and surrendered a single to begin the bottom of the ninth, but he quickly settled down, inducing a double play followed by a groundout to end the game. It was a bit surprising to see Hahn get the call in the ninth, though Greg Holland did struggle on Opening Day in a save situation. Hahn has allowed one run on two hits and two walks while fanning three over 2.1 frames in three relief appearances so far this season.

Earns hold Hahn allowed one run on a hit and a walk and struck out two in one inning during Thursday's 14-10 win over the Rangers. He earned a hold in the appearance.
Impact Hahn was given the ball for the sixth inning, allowing an RBI single to Rangers designated hitter Eli White. The 31-year-old Hahn isn't expected to see much work in the late innings to start this season. He posted an impressive 0.52 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, three saves and five holds in 18 appearances last season. Should the likes of Greg Holland, Scott Barlow or Josh Staumont falter, Hahn could begin to take higher-leverage assignments.

Avoids arbitration with Royals Hahn agreed to a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Royals on Tuesday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact He will avoid arbitration with the Royals and will hit the open market after the 2021 season. Hahn logged a 0.52 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB in 17.1 innings (18 appearances) out of the bullpen last season and should compete for a high-leverage role in camp.

Earns save in season finale Hahn fired one scoreless inning Sunday as he earned the save against the Tigers. He allowed no hits and one walk while striking out three.
Impact Hahn was dominant throughout the 2020 season as he allowed just one run over 17.1 relief innings. During his final three outings, he was rewarded with a win and two saves. Although he had a smaller sample during the abbreviated season, the 31-year-old could compete for a fairly prominent role in the bullpen in 2021.

Picks up second save Hahn pitched a scoreless ninth inning with one walk and two strikeouts to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Tigers.
Impact Hahn walked Niko Goodrum, but whiffed Brandon Dixon and Eric Haase after that to escape the danger. It was Hahn's second save of the season to go with five holds, a 0.55 ERA and 0.67 WHIP in 16.1 innings. With Greg Holland (oblique) on the injured list to close out the year, Hahn could be in the mix if any save opportunities arise over the last two days of the season.

Earns first career save Hahn struck out the only two batters he face to record the save during Saturday's 9-6 win over the White Sox.
Impact Ian Kennedy began the ninth inning with a 9-3 lead, but he surrendered three runs (two earned) before getting lifted with an apparent injury, allowing Hahn the chance to notch the first save of his career in clean-up duty. Hahn has been solid in limited action for the Royals this season, allowing one hit with a 7:3 K:BB across five innings. The 31-year-old had never even recorded a hold in his career prior to Saturday, and he's unlikely to be a factor for the closer's role after the departure of Trevor Rosenthal.
