INJURIES

Scorching at Triple-A Quero went 15-for-38 (.395) with three home runs, five doubles, 15 RBI and a 5:8 BB:K over his last 11 games with Triple-A Nashville.
Impact Quero -- who underwent right shoulder surgery in April of 2024 -- had not done much hitting before landing on the injured list in late July with a left shoulder injury, but he has been a man on a mission since being activated earlier this month. Quero is one of Milwaukee's top prospects at the catcher position and will turn 23 years old in October, and with him seemingly back at full strength, he figures to have a strong case to be the backup backstop for the Brewers in 2026.

AUGUST 13 • MLB.COM
Activated off minor-league IL Quero (shoulder) was activated off the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Quero is not even two weeks into a projected 3-to-4 week absence with a mild left shoulder sprain, so he appears to have recovered much faster than anticipated. The 22-year-old has slashed .259/.333/.362 with two home runs in 30 games with Nashville.
AUGUST 7 • ROTOWIRE
Out 3-to-4 weeks in minors Quero is going to be placed on Triple-A Nashville's injured list and miss 3-to-4 weeks due to a mild left shoulder sprain, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Quero was pulled from Wednesday's Triple-A contest after four innings after he appeared to hurt his shoulder while trying to tag out a baserunner earlier in the game. The young backstop missed most of the 2024 campaign due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but this appears to be a milder injury to the other shoulder and shouldn't keep him out for the remainder of the campaign. Quero could be back in action in late August if he hits his expected return timeframe.
JULY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with arm injury Quero was removed Wednesday from Triple-A Nashville's 14-13 win over Charlotte after four innings due to an apparent left arm injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact The catching prospect appeared to suffer the injury to his non-throwing arm while attempting to tag out a baserunner earlier in the contest. The Brewers haven't provided an update on Quero's injury, but more information on his status could be available when he gets examined Thursday. After missing nearly all of the 2024 season while recovering from surgery to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Quero has slashed .259/.333/.362 with two home runs and two stolen bases over 129 plate appearances with Nashville in 2025.
JULY 24 • ROTOWIRE
Back from hamstring injury Quero (hamstring) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list by Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact The 22-year-old opened the campaign on the injured list due to a hamstring injury but his ready to make his 2025 Triple-A debut after an 11-game rehab assignment in the lower minors. Quero, who is one of Milwaukee's top prospects, spent last season at the Double-A level and had a .262/.340/.443 slash line with 16 homers and five steals in 90 games.
JUNE 3 • ROTOWIRE
Makes season debut Quero (hamstring), per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, "played his first minor-league game of the season Monday ... for Milwaukee's Arizona Complex League club."
Impact A hamstring injury delayed Quero's start to the season, but he has recovered and returned to action. The 22-year-old missed nearly all of last season with a shoulder injury, but he remains both one of Milwaukee's top prospects and one of the better catching prospects league-wide.
MAY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Delayed by hamstring injury Quero suffered a hamstring injury late in spring training and should be assigned to Triple-A Nashville in late-April, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.
Impact He is also still building back up from last year's right shoulder surgery, as he was starting spring games at designated hitter. It may take Quero some time to knock the rust off at the dish, but his defense behind the plate is already big-league ready. The 22-year-old backstop slashed .262/.339/.440 with 16 home runs, five steals and a 17.8 percent strikeout rate in 90 games at Double-A in 2023 and only played one game last year at Triple-A.
APRIL 3 • ROTOWIRE
Playing in minor-league game Quero (shoulder) will start at designated hitter and bat second in a minor-league game with Double-A Biloxi on Monday.
Impact After he underwent right shoulder surgery last April that limited him to just one game in 2024, Quero was eased into spring training. Quero didn't make any Cactus League appearances before the Brewers optioned him to Triple-A Nashville on March 10, but his ability to serve as a DH on Monday suggests that he'll be ready to go for the start of the minor-league season. It's unclear if Quero will be limited to DH-only duties initially, or if he'll be ready to make starts behind the plate.

MARCH 10 • MLB.COM
Cut from big-league camp The Brewers optioned Quero (shoulder) to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Manager Pat Murphy said before the start of camp that he expected Quero to play in Cactus League games this spring, but he did not see any action before getting cut. Quero missed virtually all of the 2024 season following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will head to Triple-A Nashville to start the 2025 season, once he's deemed ready for games.

Impact Quero had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder last April but estimated Wednesday that he's at "75 to 80 percent" physically. The catching prospect was limited to just one game with Triple-A Nashville before getting injured and is headed back to Nashville to begin the 2025 campaign.

Impact The 21-year-old suffered the injury when he was picked off first base and subsequently exited the contest. The specifics of the injury unclear, but it's a discouraging development for Quero in the first game of the season.

MARCH 9, 2024 • MLB.COM
Lands on injured list Quero was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Biloxi on Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact It's not believed to be a serious injury, but the 20-year-old will still be held out for at least the next week. Quero is one of Milwaukee's top prospects and has a .262/.340/.443 slash line with 16 homers in 90 games for Biloxi this season.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Makes return to Double-A squad Double-A Biloxi reinstated Quero (hand) from the 7-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Quero is expected to step back in as Biloxi's No. 1 backstop after he hadn't played for the club since July 21 due to a left hand injury. The 20-year-old slugged 13 home runs and hit .289 in 268 plate appearances with Biloxi prior to landing on the shelf.
AUGUST 9, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hits 7-day IL Quero has been placed on the 7-day injured list retroactive to July 23 due to left hand soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Quero's injury comes at an unfortunate time, as the backstop had been raking to the tune of a .364/.500/.500 line in 12 games this month. On the plus side, the issue doesn't appear to be severe on the surface, so he could be back in action within the next week.
JULY 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
On fire at Double-A Quero is hitting .432 with three home runs, seven walks and five strikeouts over his last 10 games with Double-A Biloxi.
Impact The 20-year-old catcher is hitting .289/.367/.498 with a 10.8 percent walk rate and a 17.9 percent strikeout in 57 games as the fifth-youngest qualified hitter at Double-A. Quero is known for his excellent defense behind the plate, and this strong offensive showing could lead to him ranking as a top-20 real-life prospect by season's end.
JULY 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cruising at Double-A Quero went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI in a game with Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday.
Impact The 20-year-old reached the Double-A level for the first time this season, and after getting off to a slow start he has found his groove, posting a 1.164 OPS while tallying six long balls and 14 RBI over his last 13 games. Opinions on his future outlook vary to some degree, but he is one of the better catching prospects around the league and the top backstop prospect in Milwaukee's system.
