Impact Guerra has spent time in the big leagues across 10 previous seasons, but this will mark the veteran right-hander's first trip to the majors in 2021. Guerra most recently posted a 4.02 ERA across 15.2 innings with Washington during the shortened 2020 campaign. With former closer Brad Hand recently being traded to Toronto, and the Nationals still dealing with other injuries in their bullpen, the possibility of Guerra receiving some high-leverage innings in the future isn't out of the question.

Whether or not the 34-year-old's 4.84 ERA over the last three seasons is enough to earn him a major-league deal this winter remains to be seen. Impact The 34-year-old sustained the injury during Tuesday's contest as he delivered 14 of his 30 pitches for strikes over 1.2 scoreless innings. Guerra will be eligible to be activated Sept. 12, but it's unclear when he's expected to return from the injured list.

Impact Martinez indicated the injury occurred on the right-hander's final pitch, but he struggled with his control throughout the appearance, throwing only 14 of his 30 pitches for strikes. He had two strikeouts and three walks over 1.2 scoreless innings without giving up a hit. Guerra wasn't provided a timeline for his return and should be considered day-to-day until he undergoes further evaluation.
