Records one homer, four Ks Burger went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and four strikeouts Thursday in a loss to the Dodgers in extra innings.

Impact It was an all-or-nothing performance for Burger at the dish, as he smashed a fourth-inning solo shot but struck out in all four of his remaining plate appearances. Making contact has been an issue for the infielder of late, as he's fanned at least once in each of his past 10 games and has posted a 46.3 percent strikeout rate over that span. On the other side of the all-or-nothing coin, Burger has swatted five homers and driven in 11 runs over that 10-game stretch.

Impact Burger has gone yard four times and added 10 RBI despite going just 6-for-32 (.188) over his last eight games. He's also struck out 14 times in that span, which puts him at a 31.6 percent strikeout rate on the season. He's made do with solid power production -- 15 homers and nine doubles over 50 contests. Burger is slashing .250/.299/.600 with 35 RBI, 26 runs scored and a stolen base, but a little more plate discipline could go a long way to making him a fixture in the lineup.

Impact All of Burger's production came in Game 1, when he went 2-for-4 with a two-run shot off Luis Severino. The third baseman has started each of Chicago's past three games after coming off the bench in each of the three prior contests. Burger was the team's DH in the opening contest Thursday before shifting to first base in the nightcap, and he's also logged starts at third and second base this season. That positional flexibility should help him see frequent enough starts to still be relevant in fantasy.

Impact Burger came up clutch with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning. This was his second homer in his last four games, but he's seen his playing time drop off lately after holding a steady role in mid-May. The 27-year-old has hit just .209 (9-for-43) over his last 14 contests. For the season, he's at a respectable .265/.317/.606 slash line with 12 homers, 29 RBI, 22 runs scored and a stolen base through 145 plate appearances. With Yoan Moncada firmly in place as the starting third baseman, Burger's best bet for playing time remains at designated hitter.

Impact Burger has hit an impressive .268/.312/.598 on the season, homering 11 times in 41 games. That earned him 14 consecutive starts in mid-to-late May, but he's now been on the bench for three straight games. His .521 OPS over his last 12 contests may have something to do with his downtick in playing time, though it's not as if Gavin Sheets' .613 OPS in his last 12 games is much better.

Impact Grifol indicated back in mid-April that it was unlikely he'd use Burger at second base, but as Burger has continued to mash it appears he's reconsidered. Burger does have a little bit of experience at the keystone, but the White Sox certainly would be taking a hit defensively when he plays there. However, it might be worth it in order to keep his bat in the lineup when Eloy Jimenez (abdomen) returns.
