Impact Lamb last played in Game 1 of Sunday's twin bill against the Mariners, but it's not clear at this point when or how the quad issue arose. The move comes retroactive to Monday, so Lamb will become eligible to be reinstated July 9 in Baltimore, though he may need more time to recover. The 30-year-old had been receiving semi-regular playing time in the White Sox injury-riddled outfield, slashing .224/.333/.424 with five homers and 10 RBI on the campaign.

Impact Lamb ended an eight-game homer drought with his two-run shot off Lance McCullers in the second inning, but that would be all the offense the White Sox would muster in a game where they went 3-for-27 as a team. The outfielder is only hitting .234 on the season so while his homer was a nice thing to see, he's not carrying a lot of fantasy upside across most formats.

Impact The lefty-hitting Lamb has been a fixture in left field recently, particularly against right-handers, but took a seat Saturday with Andrew Vaughn activated from the COVID-19 protocols list and a lefty working for Detroit. He replaced Hamilton in the fifth inning and slotted in at right field, while Danny Mendick moved to cover center. Lamb has hit safely in nine of 10 games, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two doubles, three home runs, six RBI and eight runs. He's part of a group -- Vaughn, Hamilton and Leury Garcia are the others -- that is covering for the injured Eloy Jimenez (pectoral) and Luis Robert (hip).

Impact Lamb made his fifth straight start and sixth in the last seven games, all in the outfield and against right-handers. The lefty-hitting corner infielder has seen more time in the outfield than the infield in 2021, largely due to injuries. He's mostly played left field, which has become a revolving door after Eloy Jimenez's pectoral injury. More recently, the White Sox placed Andrew Vaughn on the COVID-19 list. Add in recurring hamstring issues for right fielder Adam Eaton and the need for Lamb's competitors to fill in at center field for Luis Robert (hip), and there are available at-bats in the outfield. After a slow start to the season, Lamb has picked it up recently, going 10-for-26 with three home runs over the last nine contests.
