Start being skipped GM Chris Young said the Rangers will skip deGrom's scheduled start Wednesday against the Royals due to right shoulder fatigue, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Impact The 37-year-old already returned to Texas to be evaluated and was clear of any structural issues, but the Rangers will still elect to manage his workload with his 140.1 innings this season being the first time he's cracked 100 frames since 2019. Assuming there's no further issues, deGrom's next turn through the rotation tentatively lines up for Monday versus the Angels.

Impact DeGrom got through six scoreless innings but couldn't hold on in the seventh. In that frame, he got the first hitter out but then allowed the next three batters to reach base via a single, a walk and a two-run double. The third run against deGrom came after he left the contest. Though the All-Star hurler was ultimately tagged with his third straight defeat, this was at least a strong turnaround after he gave up 10 runs across 10.1 innings over his previous two starts.
