Chased early in loss DeGrom (7-7) took the loss against the Astros on Saturday, allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
Impact DeGrom was uncharacteristically wild, issuing a season-high five walks while throwing just 52 of 91 pitches for strikes. It was the 38-year-old's shortest outing since a three-inning struggle May 22, though it's the third time in his past seven starts that he's yielded five or more earned runs. He owns a 3.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 135:29 K:BB across 113.2 innings this season and will aim to rebound in a home matchup with the Orioles next weekend.

Allows one run in no-decision DeGrom did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks over five-plus innings against Seattle. He struck out four.
Impact DeGrom fired off five frames of one-run ball before allowing a pair of singles to open the sixth frame, prompting the Rangers to pull him at 90 pitches (66 strikes) in favor of Robby Ahlstrom. Ahlstrom closed the inning with no damage to preserve a 3-1 advantage, though struggles from the relievers after him kept Texas and DeGrom from picking up the win. The 38-year-old hasn't put up the elite numbers he's regularly produced throughout his big-league career, but the two-time Cy Young Award winner has still been plenty serviceable in 2026. DeGrom will take a 7-6 record with a 3.67 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 132:24 K:BB across 110.1 innings (20 starts) into his next outing, lined up for next weekend on the road in Houston.

Chased by ChiSox in fifth frame DeGrom (7-6) took the loss against the White Sox on Monday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six batters over 4.2 innings.
Impact DeGrom did fine over his first four innings, giving up just one run. However, things fell apart for him in the fifth, when he yielded four runs on four hits and a walk while retiring only two batters. The crushing blow was a bases-clearing double off the bat of Andrew Benintendi, which was followed by deGrom being removed from the contest. The veteran hurler was scratched from his final start before the All-Star break due to a mild left glute strain, but it's unclear if that had any bearing on his shaky performance Monday. DeGrom hasn't been as effective overall this season as in past campaigns, as he holds a 3.76 ERA -- on track for a career-worst mark -- through 105.1 frames spanning 19 starts.

Cleared to start Monday DeGrom (glute) is scheduled to start Monday's game against the White Sox, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact The 38-year-old was scratched from his final outing before the All-Star break due to a mild left glute strain, but he's been cleared to take the mound for Texas' fourth game coming out of the All-Star break. DeGrom has given up two runs or fewer in six of his past seven starts and has a 4-1 record with a 3.07 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 52:10 K:BB across 41 innings during that span.

Likely to return against White Sox DeGrom (glute) will throw a bullpen session Saturday and will likely make his next start during the Rangers' home series against the White Sox that begins Monday, Kennedi Landry of...
Impact Landry initially reported Thursday that deGrom was lined up to face Atlanta on Sunday, but it looks like the veteran right-hander needs a little bit more time to recover. He is dealing with a mild left glute strain that he picked up prior to the All-Star break, but the injury is not severe enough for him to require a stint on the injured list.
JULY 17 • ROTOWIRE
Tentatively lined up for Sunday DeGrom (glute) appears tentatively lined up to start Sunday's game in Atlanta, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact DeGrom had to be scratched from his final scheduled start of the first half due to a mild left glute strain. He planned to play catch over the All-Star break before likely throwing a bullpen session this weekend. As long as he gets through that mound session without any hiccups, deGrom is likely to take the ball Sunday in the series finale. If deGrom needs a little more time, the Rangers could push him back to start during next week's home series versus the White Sox.

Rangers' Jacob deGrom will miss next start with mild left glute strain

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom will miss his next scheduled start for the Texas Rangers and won’t be immediately available after next week’s All-Star break
JULY 10 • Associated Press
Scratched Sunday due to injury DeGrom will not make his scheduled start against the Astros on Sunday due to a glute/hip strain, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Friday that he's not sure whether deGrom will be available "right away" following the All-Star break, and a stint on the 15-day injured list is a real possibility for the veteran right-hander. No longer starting Sunday, DeGrom will enter the All-Star break with a 7-5 record across 18 starts along with a 3.49 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 122:22 K:BB across 100.2 innings. The Rangers should have a clearer idea of deGrom's next steps once he undergoes more tests.

Logs no-decision Tuesday DeGrom allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Tuesday.
Impact DeGrom struggled in the first inning, allowed two runs on a pair of hits and a walk. The veteran right-hander settled in thereafter, holding the Angels scoreless over the remainder of his outing. DeGrom exited having tossed fewer than six innings for the first time over his past six starts, but it was still mostly a positive appearance that included seven punchouts and 13 whiffs. He's lined up to make one more start before the All-Star break -- a home matchup against Houston.

Dominant in seventh win DeGrom (7-5) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings in a 4-2 victory over the Guardians. He struck out nine without walking a batter.
Impact The only blemish on deGrom's line came in the first inning, when Kyle Manzardo jumped on a 98.4 mph first-pitch fastball and launched it over the fence in right-center field for a two-run homer. The veteran right-hander took control after that and didn't let another Cleveland runner get into scoring position until the seventh, when Daniel Schneemann singled and stole second before getting stranded. The quality start was deGrom's fourth in his last five trips to the mound, a stretch in which he sports a 3.48 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB over 31 innings. He'll look to stay dialed in for his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Tigers.
