Reynolds is likely to only be sidelined in the short term, in which case Suwinski's time in the majors would almost certainly be short-lived. Heads to Double-A affiliate The Pirates optioned Suwinski to Double-A Altoona on Wednesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Impact Suwinski was previously demoted to Triple-A Indianapolis on March 24, only to move down another level two weeks. Like Suwinski, Tucupita Marcano was acquired from the Padres in last summer's deal that sent Adam Frazier to San Diego, and both players will end up beginning the season at Double-A due to the lack of available at-bats on a loaded Indianapolis roster. The 23-year-old outfielder submitted a .750 OPS in 182 plate appearances at Altoona last season after coming over from San Diego.
