Cubs put C Phegley, INF Vargas on playoff roster

The Chicago Cubs have put catcher Josh Phegley and infielder Ildemaro Vargas on their roster for their NL wild-card series against the Miami Marlins

Impact Vargas will miss the final week of the regular season after serving as infield depth for the Cubs recently. It's unclear whether he'll be utilized if the Cubs make the playoffs. Right-hander Adbert Alzolay was recalled from the alternate training site in a corresponding move.
