Removed from 40-man roster Gibaut was outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Impact Gibaut had his contract selected in late August but spent the final weeks of the season at Triple-A, and he's now been removed from the 40-man roster. The right-hander appeared in only three games for the Twins and spent most of the year at St. Paul, where he posted a 6.80 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 54:21 K:BB across 45 innings.

Returns to St. Paul The Twins optioned Gibaut to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Impact Gibaut was up with the big club for about a week and a half, appearing in three games out of the bullpen while giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He'll cede his spot on the 28-man active roster to pitcher Michael Pineda (oblique), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled bulk-relief appearance in Monday's game in Cleveland.

Impact Gibaut owns a career 6.08 ERA in 26.2 innings at the major-league level. He's spent the entirety of this season at the Triple-A level, where he owns an even worse 7.20 ERA. He'll likely be limited to low-leverage innings during his time with the team.
