Impact Ryu was solid in a tough road setting in Colorado, limiting the damage to just a two-run homer by Elehuris Montero in the bottom of the third inning. The left-hander has now allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last five outings, posting a 1.50 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 24 innings in those starts. Ryu will look to keep the good times rolling in his next start which is tentatively set to be against the Athletics on the road Wednesday.

Ryu's ratios have been aided by unearned runs in three straight starts, but he's won all three and has a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB through 24 innings since making his return from Tommy John surgery. On the downside, he has yet to record an out in the sixth inning in any of his five outings. Ryu could carry some extra fantasy risk in his next start, which is likely to come next weekend in Coors Field.

Impact Holding a 9-1 lead after five, there was no need for the Blue Jays to extend Ryu, as they continue to play it safe with the 36-year-old lefty who has looked solid in four starts since returning from Tommy John surgery. An even better sign for Ryu were the seven strikeouts he recorded in five innings after having recorded eight total in his previous 14 innings. Ryu will look to increase his workload next week in a start tentatively scheduled for Saturday at home against Cleveland.

Impact Ryu was able to keep his normal turn in the rotation and pitched well despite being forced from his last start after taking a comebacker off of his right knee. Making just his third start of the season following returning from Tommy John surgery, Ryu allowed two unearned runs in the first, then allowed only one more hit over his next four innings as the Jays staked him to a six run lead and were not forced to extend him beyond five innings.
