Improves to 5-3
Brown (5-3) earned the win Thursday over the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.
Impact
It was another strong outing for Brown, who held Chicago to a pair of runs that came with two outs in the second inning. The right-hander has now held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last four outings, allowing just six runs across 23.1 innings in that span. Brown's ERA now sits at 3.31 through 16 starts (87 innings) this season with a 1.30 WHIP and 93:46 K:BB. He's tentatively lined up to face the Phillies on the road his next time out.

Strikes out 10 in win
Brown (4-3) earned the win against the Mets on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with 10 strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
Impact
Brown delivered his first double-digit strikeout performance of the campaign, generating 14 whiffs on 102 pitches and working into the seventh inning for the second time in 15 starts. It also broke a streak of five straight outings in which the 28-year-old allowed a home run, and he'll end August with a solid 3.18 ERA over 28.1 innings. He owns a 3.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 86:44 K:BB across 81 frames this season and lines up for a home matchup with the White Sox next week.

Fires 5.2 strong innings
Brown took a no-decision against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing one run on seven hits and three walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
Brown fared mostly well at keeping the ball down, inducing seven groundouts, but a Donovan Walton solo home run did leave a blemish on the hurler's line. The right-hander has been very consistent as of late, pitching at least five innings in six consecutive starts while giving up three runs or fewer each time out during that period. Brown is set to take a 3.51 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 76:43 K:BB over 74.1 innings into a road matchup against a hot Mets lineup.

Struggles with control in third loss
Brown (3-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings in a 3-2 loss to the Mariners. He struck out five.
Impact
After giving up a solo homer to Randy Arozarena in the first inning, Brown generally limited the damage but struggled with his control, issuing five walks. The right-hander hadn't experienced notable control issues in previous seasons, but he's now allowed four-plus walks in four of his past eight outings and is sporting an overall 5.2 BB/9. In total, Brown owns a 3.67 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 72:40 K:BB across 68.2 innings (13 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Saturday against the Athletics.

Takes second loss
Brown (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to take the loss versus the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact
Brown threw 56 of 89 pitches for strikes in a decent outing, but the Astros didn't give him much help. The right-hander has surrendered 12 runs over 28.1 innings while adding a 28:13 K:BB over five starts since the All-Star break, providing solid but unremarkable pitching in most of his outings in that stretch. For the year, he's at a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 67:35 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts. Brown's next start is projected to be in a favorable home matchup versus the Angels.

Fans eight in quality start
Brown didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.
Impact
The right-hander had a shutout going through five frames but Brown faded in the sixth, with a two-run homer by Jesus Sanchez tying the game. Brown exited after 93 pitches (54 strikes) having to settle for his fifth quality start of the season. He'll take a 3.53 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 63:32 K:BB through 58.2 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in San Francisco.

Impact
Brown opened with five scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the sixth, falling one out shy of a quality start at a season-high 104 pitches. The 27-year-old generated only nine whiffs but yielded just four hard-hit balls en route to his second straight victory.
