Impact The right-hander appears to be the top closing option for the Reds at the moment, picking up saves in back-to-back games. Amir Garrett, who pitched the last two days and was likely unavailable, remains in the mix however, and Lucas Sims (elbow) and Tejay Antone (forearm) could be back later this month as well. On the season, Hembree has a 5.06 ERA thanks to eight homers allowed in 26.2 innings, but his 45:10 K:BB highlights how dominant he can be when everything is clicking.

The runner on second was able to advance and score, however the Reds had a two run lead to work with and he picked up his first save of the season. The 32-year-old normally doesn't get the call in save situations, but this was unique in extra innings. He is pitching lights-out this year, with 9.2 scoreless innings and just a 0.31 WHIP. If he can continue with these numbers, he may find himself in higher-stress situations down the road.

Impact Hembree's time as a Phillie appeared to be over when he was waived Thursday, and he will indeed head to the open market. The Phillies may wish his time with the team never began in the first place, as he was brought in to help a struggling bullpen but only made things worse, posting a 12.54 ERA in 9.1 innings of work before suffering an elbow strain. That injury and performance will presumably suppress his market this winter, though his solid 3.90 career ERA should give him some suitors.

Impact The Phillies picked up Hembree in late August in an attempt to fix their failing bullpen, but the move didn't have the desired effect. In 9.1 innings in Philadelphia before landing on the injured list with a strained right elbow, Hembree gave up 13 runs. His injury questions and his poor 2020 campaign will certainly shrink his market should he wind up heading to free agency.

Impact The Phillies don't believe that Hembree is dealing with any significant damage as he's experiencing an issue on the outside of his elbow, but he won't throw for five days. It's unclear whether he could be available if the Phillies qualify for the postseason. Ramon Rosso and Mickey Moniak were each recalled in corresponding moves.
