Impact The right-hander was cut loose by the Red Sox in late April and quickly latched on with the Tigers via a minor-league deal, but he made just six appearances before going down with a forearm injury. Hembree was activated from the injured list by Triple-A Toledo on Friday but will now depart the organization.

Impact Hembree will move on to his fifth team in three years, after he split the 2020 campaign with the Red Sox and Phillies and the 2021 campaign with the Reds and Mets. Before he was waived by Cincinnati last August and then claimed by the Mets, Hembree enjoyed a brief run as the Reds' closer, converting nine of 11 save chances. He ultimately finished the season with an ugly 5.59 ERA, but a 4.31 FIP, 1.19 WHIP and 24.3 K-BB% all point to him pitching better than the ERA indicated.
