Takes seventh loss Tuesday
Hembree (2-7) allowed an earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out one in one-third of an inning, taking the loss to Atlanta on Tuesday.
Impact
Hembree recorded just one out and was responsible for the game-winning run to score in the sixth inning. He has struggled recently, surrendering seven runs in his last 4.1 innings. The 32-year-old has a 5.45 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP in 39.2 innings this season. However, he does offer a lot of strikeouts with a 14.8 K/9.

Blows save Tuesday
Hembree (2-6) took the loss Tuesday as the Reds fell 7-5 to the Twins, giving up three runs on one hit and two walks over two-thirds of an inning to blow his second save of the sea...
Impact
After walking the first two batters he faced in the ninth inning while trying to protect a one-run lead, Hembree served up a three-run shot to Jorge Polanco to hand the game to Minnesota. The right-hander has been tagged for runs in four straight appearances while posting a 6:5 K:BB in three innings over that stretch, and the only thing keeping him in the closer role right now might be the fact that Amir Garrett hasn't looked much better during that stretch. If Hembree can't turn things around soon, the Reds might consider other options, such as Michael Lorenzen or Mychal Givens, in the ninth.

Takes loss in relief
Hembree (2-5) was tagged with the loss Monday against the Cubs after allowing a run on two walks and a hit batsman across two-thirds of an inning.
Impact
After recording the last out of the eighth inning, Hembree stayed in for the ninth with the game tied at 5-5, but he struggled with his control, walking Patrick Wisdom and Ian Happ before plunking Nico Hoerner. Hembree was pulled with the bases loaded and one out, and the winning run was charged to him when Javier Baez singled to center against Amir Garrett. This was an unusually rough outing for Hembree, whose ERA has now inflated to 4.50 despite a sharp 58:14 K:BB and 1.00 WHIP in 36 innings this season.

Secures another save
Hembree picked up the save Saturday against the Cardinals, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
Impact
The right-hander needed only eight pitches to retire the side in order and earn his eighth save of the campaign. Seven of the eight pitches went for strikes, though none were of the swinging variety. Hembree has blown only one save on the season and has allowed only two earned runs across his past 13 appearances spanning 12.2 innings.

Notches seventh save
Hembree struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his seventh save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
Impact
He wasn't facing a soft part of the St. Louis lineup either, as Nolan Arenado and Tyler O'Neill were among his strikeout victims. Hembree seems to have stabilized the Reds' shaky closer situation, and since the beginning of July he has a 1.86 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 16:2 K:BB through 9.2 innings while converting six of seven save chances.

Records another save
Hembree earned the save Saturday against Milwaukee after tossing a scoreless inning, giving up a walk and striking out one.
Impact
Hembree was tasked with closing this out Saturday and got the job done despite needing 18 pitches (10 strikes) to do so, and he has now gone 6-for-7 in save chances this season. He seems to be handling most of the late-inning duties at the moment but has been successful, and he owns a 1.69 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP and an elite 16.9 K/9 through 5.1 innings across six appearances this month.

Fans side, earns save
Hembree struck out all three batters he faced and earned a save over the Brewers on Friday.
Impact
Hembree entered the game with a runner on second base but needed just 12 pitches to shut down Milwaukee and finish off the victory. He's been given a save chance in each of his last five appearances, converting four of those while recording a 9:1 K:BB through 4.1 frames. He owns a 4.97 ERA with five saves this season.

Picks up another save
Hembree picked up the save Wednesday against the Royals after hurling a scoreless inning, striking out one.
Impact
Hembree has gone 3-for-4 in save chances across his last four outings, as he has taken over the closing duties with both Lucas Sims (elbow) and Tejay Antone (forearm) on the injured list. Hembree is part of a closer-by-committee approach the Reds have embraced this season, but he's often seeing work in high-leverage situations. That's not expected to change regardless of who ends up as the defined closer in that committee -- if there ever is one.

Stick with loss Tuesday
Hembree (2-4) took the loss Tuesday versus Kansas City. He allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk while recording his lone out via strikeout.
Impact
Hembree entered the contest in a tough spot, as Brad Brach gave up a walk, hit a batter and gave up an unearned run. Hembree allowed both inherited runners to score on a Nicky Lopez single before Amir Garrett relieved him. It was on Garrett's watch that Kansas City walked it off, with the run charged to Hembree. The 32-year-old had converted saves in his last two outings before Tuesday's messy appearance. He has a 5.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46:11 K:BB across 27 innings this year while often seeing high-leverage work in a closer-by-committee bullpen.
