On track for this weekend Ashcraft (calf) is expected to rejoin the Reds' rotation during their series this weekend against Atlanta, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact The Reds have an off day Thursday and then will slot Ashcraft in sometime this weekend in place of the injured Hunter Greene (hip). Ashcraft is first eligible for activation Friday and it appears he will skip a rehab assignment. The big right-hander is working his way back from a left calf contusion.

Almost fully healed Ashcraft is nearly fully healed from the left calf contusion which sent him to the injured list, MLB.com reports.

Impact Ashcraft will test out the calf with some running soon and, assuming he gets through that with no issues, will be cleared to throw off a mound. The right-hander could throw three bullpen sessions before making a return sometime around when he's first eligible June 24.

Impact Ashcraft was struck by a ball off the bat of Austin Barnes in the top of the third inning. Impact Ashcraft picked up his first win since April 15 after needing 92 pitches to grind through five innings while receiving plenty of run support from his teammates. His only troublesome inning was the second. He issued a walk and allowed a base hit before surrendering a three-run blast to Patrick Wisdom to put the Cubs ahead 3-2.
