Blasts 26th homer Freeman went 3-for-4 with a walk and a three-run home run in Monday's 12-2 rout of the Marlins.
Impact He took Paul Campbell deep in the fourth inning, part of a seven-run frame for Atlanta. Freeman has gone yard in back-to-back games, giving him 26 homers on the year, and he's slashing a strong .327/.386/.500 through 14 contests in August.

Blasts 25th home run Freeman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Nationals.
Impact Freeman had gone just 1-for-18 with three strikeouts in the six games leading up to Saturday's matchup, but he went 4-for-8 with a homer, three runs, two RBI, a stolen base and two walks in the final two contests of the series against Washington. The 31-year-old's home run in the fifth inning was just his second extra-base hit in his last 21 games.

Swipes seventh bag Freeman went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base Saturday in Atlanta's 12-2 win over Washington.
Impact Though Freeman wasn't responsible for any of Atlanta's six extra-base hits on the day, he put an end to a 1-for-18 skid at the dish over the past six games and chipped in a steal. While Freeman's combination of power and batting average were the main reasons why he was valued as an early round pick in fantasy drafts, his contributions on the basepaths shouldn't be overlooked. With seven stolen bases on the season, Freeman ranks tied for second among all first basemen, trailing only St. Louis' Paul Goldschmidt (eight).

Good to go Tuesday Freeman is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Reds after missing Sunday's contest due to illness.
Impact Freeman exited Saturday's matchup against Washington with an upper respiratory infection. He remained out of the starting nine for the series finale, though he did make a pinch-hit appearance later in the game. The slugger appears to be feeling much better as he's set to bat third and man first base Tuesday.

Albies, Duvall power Braves to 5-4 win over Nationals

Ozzie Albies and Adam Duvall each hit a two-run homer off Patrick Corbin, Max Fried pitched six strong innings and the Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 5-4

Sitting Sunday with illness Freeman (illness) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Impact Austin Riley will shift across the diamond and cover first base in place of Freeman, who made an early exit from Saturday's 3-2 win while battling an upper-respiratory infection. According to Bowman, Freeman admitted he felt sick heading into Saturday's game and experienced spells of dizziness before leaving early, so Atlanta is likely erring on the side of caution by holding him out of the series finale. Freeman will effectively get two days off thanks to Atlanta having an open date in the schedule Monday, but the team is hopeful he'll be ready to go for Tuesday's series opener versus Cincinnati.

Freddie Freeman exits game early with upper respiratory infection Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman exited Saturday’s game after one inning as a precaution with an upper respiratory infection.
AUGUST 7, 2021 • AJC.COM
Exits with illness Freeman left Saturday's game against the Nationals due to an upper respiratory infection.
Impact There's been no indication that Freeman has tested positive for COVID-19, an illness he battled prior to his MVP campaign last year. Health and safety protocols remain tight due to the pandemic, however, so Atlanta will have to treat Freeman's illness with caution. Ehire Adrianza entered the game in his place, playing third base and pushing Austin Riley over to first, which could be the team's default alignment if Freeman is forced to miss time.
