SOCIALSTATSVIDEOSGAME LOG
Exits with apparent injury Tatis left Tuesday's game against the Reds with an apparent injury, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Tatis walked off the field with his hand on his hip after making a play at shortstop. He also had an awkward slide into second base earlier in the game. The severity of the injury is not yet clear.

Returns as expected Tatis (illness) will bat third and play shortstop Thursday against Oakland.
Impact Tatis hasn't played since Saturday due to the flu as well as general soreness, but there never appeared to be any serious threat to his health. With Opening Day still two weeks away, he should have plenty of time to get up to speed.
MARCH 18 • ROTOWIRE
Set for game action Thursday Tatis (illness) is scheduled to be in the lineup for Thursday's spring game against the A's, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact The 22-year-old has been sidelined the past few days after dealing with the flu and some general soreness, but he completed a workout Wednesday and is poised to retake the field Thursday. Tatis is 7-for-14 with two homers, five RBI and one stolen base through six spring games and should not have any problems being ready for Opening Day.

Impact Tatis missed another Cactus League contest as he continues to recover from a bout with the flu and some general soreness, but the fact that he was slated to work out indicates that he is at least making progress toward a return to the field. There has been no indication that the young slugger is in any danger of missing Opening Day.
MARCH 17 • ROTOWIRE
Missing another game Monday Tatis is out of the Padres' lineup for the second straight day Monday.
Impact Tatis also missed Sunday's Cactus League game against Cincinnati. According to Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune, the star shortstop's absence is partly tied to his recent bout with the flu and partly due to his dive to the plate Saturday while scoring on a sacrifice fly. Sanders also notes that Tatis would be playing if the regular season was underway, and there hasn't been any mention of the 22-year-old being diagnosed with an injury. Annie Heilbrunn of the San Diego Union-Tribune notes that Tatis will go through a light workout Monday but isn't certain to take any swings.
MARCH 15 • ROTOWIRE
Thriving at plate this spring Tatis has gone 7-for-14 with a pair of home runs, five RBI and a stolen base through six Cactus League contests.
Impact The third-year shortstop hasn't held back despite the exhibition nature of the spring slate, looking every bit ready to hit the ground running this season. Saturday, he flashed his wheels in a thrilling first-inning sequence during which he went from first to third on a groundout before tagging up and scoring on a popout that barely left the infield. Those are the kind of plays that make Tatis one of the game's most exciting players and help build his hype as a five-category fantasy stud. He did miss a few games last week due to a minor illness, but the issue appears to be behind him, and the 22-year-old looks poised to cement his status as one of fantasy's most productive stars.

Batting leadoff Friday Tatis (illness) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Friday's spring game against the A's.
Impact The 22-year-old has been sidelined for the past week with a non-COVID-19 illness, but he'll return to the field Friday after going through a full workout Thursday. There was never much question regarding Tatis' availability for Opening Day, and he's now been given the all clear.
MARCH 12 • ROTOWIRE
Going through full workout Tatis (illness) will go through a full workout Thursday and will return to the lineup Friday against Oakland if the workout goes smoothly, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Impact Tatis has been sidelined for nearly a week with a non-COVID illness. There should still be plenty of time for him to get up to speed by Opening Day as long as he gets back on the field soon, so the issue shouldn't meaningfully affect his fantasy appeal.
MARCH 11 • ROTOWIRE
Out again Thursday Tatis (illness) is out of the lineup for Thursday's Cactus League game against Cleveland.
Impact Though he'll remain out of the lineup for the sixth day in a row, Tatis is believed to have mostly recovered from the non-COVID-19-related illness that resulted in him dealing with body aches for the past week. The 22-year-old is still expected to rejoin the lineup this weekend, perhaps as soon as Friday's game against the Athletics.
MARCH 11 • ROTOWIRE
Likely back Thursday Tatis (illness) is expected to return to Cactus League action Thursday against Cleveland, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact The 21-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday while battling aches and pains from a non-COVID-19 illness, but he's expected to return to game action this week. "It's nothing we're concerned about," manager Jayce Tingler said. "We don't want to push it right now." Tatis still has more than three weeks to prepare for Opening Day, so the illness shouldn't affect his status for the start of the season.
MARCH 9 • ROTOWIRE
Battling aches and pains Tatis hasn't played since Friday due to general aches and pains related to a non-COVID-19 illness, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact The Padres don't appear to be particularly concerned with the issue, with manager Jayce Tingler saying Tatis would definitely be in the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox if it were the regular season. There's no reason to push the $340 million man in early March, however, as Tatis can afford to rest a few more days without meaningfully setting back his preseason preparation.
