Contributes off bench
Duran went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Seattle.
Impact
Duran, who opened the game on the bench after making five consecutive starts, pinch hit for third baseman Josh Smith with lefty reliever Ryan Borucki on the mound. Duran flied out in his first at-bat but gave Texas a brief lead in the top of the ninth inning with a single, giving him hits all six games since the break. Of the five Rangers to have started at third base in 2022, Duran's the only one who hasn't been subject to the lefty-righty platoon decisions often employed by manager Chris Woodward.

Registers third steal
Duran went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
Impact
Duran hit a single and scored on a wild pitch in the third inning. He also walked and stole second in the fourth, giving him three steals in four attempts this year. The infielder has hit safely in all five games since the All-Star break, going 5-for-17 (.294) in that span. He's started at third base in three of those contests, though it doesn't appear the right-handed hitter is getting platooned since he's started against four righties. In 21 contests overall, Duran has a .266/.301/.418 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI and 13 runs scored.

Makes third straight start
Duran started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Oakland.
Impact
Duran, who was called up following the All-Star break, has started all three games since -- once at second base and the last two at third. The righty hitter has been in the lineup against both lefties and righties, and the Rangers may see how he develops in an everyday role. Duran's hit in all three games and, for now, has marginalized Josh Smith and Charlie Culberson.

Collects hit, scores run in return
Duran started at second base, batted ninth, and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's 8-0 win over the Marlins.
Impact
Duran was called up from Triple-A Round Rock after the Rangers placed Brad Miller (neck) on the injured list. Marcus Semien, the primary starter at second base, moved to shortstop as Corey Seager got the day off. This is Duran's second stint in the majors this season, and he was one of three members of the lineup -- along with Josh Smith and Elier Hernandez --that are getting their first taste of MLB in 2022. Throw the 23-year-old Leody Taveras in the mix, and a picture of an organization building next year's squad emerges.

Recalled, will start Thursday
Duran was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. He'll start at second base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Marlins.
Impact
The 23-year-old was sent to the minors in late June but will rejoin the Rangers after Brad Miller (neck) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Duran shifted to a platoon role prior to his demotion and will likely serve as a depth infielder during Miller's absence.

Moved to Triple-A
Duran was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Impact
Duran was recently moved into a platoon role, but he will now return to Triple-A. After a hot start following his call up June 4, the 23-year-old went 1-for-15 over his final four games. With Josh H. Smith back from his shoulder injury and Corey Seager and Marcus Semien holding down their respective positions, there simply wasn't anywhere for him to crack the lineup consistently. Duran will remain a top candidate to get recalled in the coming months.

Could move into platoon role
Duran is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
Impact
He'll bow out of the starting nine for the second time in three games with the Rangers opposing a right-handed starting pitcher (Kyle Gibson), and Duran's time as an everyday player could be over now that fellow rookie Josh H. Smith (shoulder) is back from the 10-day injured list. Since Smith hits from the left side of the plate, he could end up filling the strong side of a platoon at third base while Duran makes most of his starts at the position versus left-handed pitching. Duran has experience at second base and shortstop, too, but big-ticket offseason pickups Marcus Semien and Corey Seager won't get too many days off when both are healthy. Designated hitter doesn't look like a viable path to playing time either for Duran, as Mitch Garver (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19-related injured list Tuesday and should be a fixture at that spot in the lineup moving forward.

Takes seat Saturday
Duran isn't starting Saturday against the Tigers.
Impact
Duran is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak in which he's hit .333 with a homer, a triple, three doubles, seven RBI, six runs and two stolen bases. However, he'll get a day off while Brad Miller shifts to third base with Zach Reks starting in left field.

Delivers clutch hit
Duran went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in Thursday's 3-1 win over Detroit.
Impact
Duran delivered a bases-clearing, two-out triple off Tigers closer Gregory Soto in the top of the ninth inning to give the Rangers a lead that they protected in the bottom half of the frame. It was Texas' 15th come-from-behind victory in 2022. The rookie infielder keeps padding his MLB resume since being called up earlier this month. Duran, who had never played above Double-A at the time of his promotion, is slashing .319/.333/.553 with two home runs, one triple, three doubles, eight RBI, two stolen bases and eight runs scored over 12 games. The black hole that was third base is not an issue at the moment for Texas.

Swipes second bag
Duran went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in a 4-3 loss to the Astros on Tuesday.
Impact
Duran singled to lead off the third inning and came around to score on an RBI single by Marcus Semien. The former would later go on to steal third base off Bryan Abreu after advancing to second on a wild pitch in the seventh. The rookie infielder has only played in 10 games since being called up from the minors June 4, but he already has a couple of home runs and steals. If Duran continues to reach base at anywhere near his current .341 clip, he should continue to find opportunities to run.

Swats second homer
Duran went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run and was caught stealing in Sunday's 8-6 extra-innings win over the White Sox.
Impact
It looked like Duran's three-run homer in the top of the 11th might be the game-winning knock, but the White Sox tied it in the bottom half. It was the second home run for Duran, who has started every game (seven at SS, one at 2B) since being added to the roster, going 10-for-33 during his first stint in the majors. The stolen base attempt was Duran's first as a member of the Rangers; the infielder stole 19 bags (caught nine times) in the minors last season and had seven (caught once) at Double-A Frisco in 2022.

Collects four hits in doubleheader
Duran went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader split with the Guardians. He went 1-for-4 in the first game.
Impact
Duran started at second base in the opener then moved to third for the nightcap. The rookie is 6-for-13 with one home run since being called up last weekend. Third base has been a black hole for the Rangers, so there's an opportunity for Duran to stick in the majors, although this is his first experience above Double-A.

Clubs first big-league homer
Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.
Impact
Duran restored a one-run lead for the Rangers with his seventh-inning blast. He went 0-for-3 with an error in his debut Saturday, but it didn't take long for the top prospect to make an impact. With Andy Ibanez optioned out to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Duran has a chance to establish himself as the starting third baseman while Josh Smith (shoulder) is on the injured list. Charlie Culberson will also be in contention for time at the hot corner, though both he and Duran are right-handed hitters.
