Impact The shoulder inflammation apparently cropped up Monday when he provided 1.1 scoreless innings against the Twins. Marshall will be eligible to be activated for the final series of the regular season next Friday versus the Cubs.

Picks up win in relief Marshall (2-1) threw 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out a batter as he was awarded the win over the Tigers on Friday.

Impact Marshall came in to relieve Lucas Giolito with two outs in the sixth inning and immediately allowed a single, but he retired the next four batters and got the win after the White Sox piled on four runs in the bottom of the inning. Marshall has been a reliable arm out of the bullpen for the White Sox this season, posting a 2.66 ERA and 27:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings.

Impact Marshall's clean inning was part of 4.2 innings of no-hit, one walk work by the White Sox bullpen in relief of rookie starter Dane Dunning. Jose Abreu hit the go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth to put Marshall in line for the win, and closer Alex Colome was able to convert the save. The 30-year-old Marshall has a 2.38 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 11.1 innings this year, along with five holds. He's performed fairly well in a setup role.

Impact Marshall entered in the eighth inning with the White Sox holding a 3-2 lead and was saddled with the blown save. He struck out the first two batters before issuing a walk to Carlos Santana, who lumbered home on Franmil Reyes' double. This was the first time the White Sox needed to hold a lead after top setup man Aaron Bummer (biceps) was placed on the injured list Saturday. Marshall had served well in this role, posting three holds while not allowing a run over seven appearances before Sunday.
