Impact Suarez appears to be getting some routine maintenance with the Reds concluding their homestand Wednesday with a day game. Kyle Farmer checks in at shortstop for Suarez, who has fallen into a 1-for-15 rut at the dish over the last four games since homering in the April 1 season opener.

Suarez has made just two starts at shortstop in the past five seasons, but he did begin his career at the position and evidently did enough this spring to prove he can handle the role. He should be able to pick up shortstop eligibility in most formats very early in the season, giving a bit of added flexibility to fantasy teams.

More than anything, Suarez's improved health this spring should put him in position for a bounce-back campaign. After missing most of last spring while recovering from right shoulder surgery, Suarez was cleared for summer camp, but he finished with a disappointing .202/.312/.470 slash line in 57 games.
