Blasts homer No. 20 Haase went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Reds.

Impact Haase took Tyler Mahle deep in the third inning, scoring the game's first three runs. It was only his second long ball since Aug. 1 and he is batting just .205 in that stretch. For the season, the catcher is slashing .236/.288/.493 with 20 homers, 53 RBI and 41 runs scored in 302 plate appearances.

Impact Haase went 1-for-2 with a home run and a pair of walks Tuesday in his first rehab game at Triple-A Toledo, but more importantly, he played a full nine-inning game behind the plate. The 28-year-old will serve as a designated hitter for Toledo in Wednesday's game, and if his right abdominal strain feels fine after a rest day Thursday, he'll rejoin the big club for the start of its homestand this weekend. Once Haase is activated, he should immediately displace Dustin Garneau as Detroit's No. 1 catcher.

Impact Haase hit the injured list with an abdominal strain Thursday, but it doesn't look as though the Tigers are overly concerned about the issue. The team hasn't officially said that he'll be back after a minimum-length stay, but the fact that he's already going through baseball activities the same day he hit the injured list seems to hint in that direction.
