Re-signs with Korean team The LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization re-signed Hernandez to a one-year, $1.3 million contract Wednesday, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.
Impact Hernandez finished the 2024 season with the Twins, posting a 4.02 ERA over 47 regular-season innings before tossing 11 scoreless frames in the postseason. The 29-year-old holds a 5.10 ERA over 99 appearances (49 starts) at the big-league level.
NOVEMBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Promoted, starting Wednesday The Dodgers selected Hernandez's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he's starting Wednesday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact The right-hander signed with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee during the offseason and will now receive his first look with the big-league club. Hernandez has covered at least five frames in each of his previous five starts at Triple-A and posted a 2.45 ERA during that stretch, but he may not last that long Wednesday with Los Angeles expected to have a bullpen game. Ryan Yarbrough and Eduardo Salazar -- who was promoted Wednesday -- are also in the mix to see bulk innings.

Shifts to 60-day IL Hernandez (pectoral) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hernandez landed on the injured list with a pectoral injury in late July, and he'll now be unable to return to action until at least late September. Since the Mets are out of contention in 2023, it wouldn't be surprising to see him simply shut down for the remainder of the year.
AUGUST 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Placed on 15-day IL The Mets placed Hernandez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right pectoral strain, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Impact Hernandez was just recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday and did not make an appearance with the Mets before being diagnosed with this pectoral strain. He battled shoulder trouble throughout the first half of the season and has logged only 9.1 total innings this year, all in the minors.
JULY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Joining big club The Mets recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
Impact New York already has a full 26-man active roster, so the team will need to make a corresponding transaction ahead of Tuesday's game against the Yankees to facilitate the addition of Hernandez. The 28-year-old right-hander will likely settle into a low-leverage role out of the Mets bullpen after turning in a 2.89 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while striking out 12 over 9.1 innings at Triple-A.
JULY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Activated and optioned Hernandez (shoulder/side) was activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Impact Hernandez is over his shoulder and side issues but will remain in the minors following a rehab assignment. The right-hander pitched well on his rehab with a 2.45 ERA and 10:1 K:BB over 7.1 frames, although that was at Low-A St. Lucie and High-A Brooklyn.
JULY 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Resumes rehab Hernandez (shoulder) worked one inning for High-A Brooklyn on Sunday, giving up a hit and striking out two in a scoreless frame.
Impact The right-hander had his rehab assignment paused at the beginning of June due to side discomfort, but he's beginning to ramp up again. Hernandez is likely to join the Mets bullpen when he gets healthy and won't need to get fully stretched out, so he could come off the IL before the All-Star break.
JUNE 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with side injury Hernandez (shoulder) was removed from a June 4 rehab appearance with Single-A St. Lucie due to side discomfort, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hernandez has been out all season with a shoulder injury, and while he appears to be over that issue, he now has a new issue to deal with. The pitcher was able to throw off flat ground Wednesday, but a timetable for his return to game action is unclear.
JUNE 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Rehabbing in Florida State League Hernandez (shoulder) made the third appearance of his rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Sunday, striking out one while allowing no hits and one walk over 1.1 scoreless in...
Impact Hernandez, who has resided on the injured list all season with a right shoulder strain, has now made three rehab appearances in the Florida State League, recording no more than four outs and throwing no more than 20 pitches in any of those outings. The 28-year-old's light usage would seem to suggest that the Mets envision him filling in a relief role once he's activated from the 60-day IL, even though Hernandez has mostly operated as a starter over parts of five seasons in the majors.
JUNE 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Transferred to 60-day IL Hernandez (shoulder) was transferred from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list by the Mets on Wednesday.
Impact Hernandez is removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Michael Perez with Perez having his contract purchased from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. Hernandez has missed the entirety of the 2023 season because of a right shoulder strain, and he isn't expected to be ready to return until the middle of the summer.
MAY 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Goes on IL The Mets placed Hernandez (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Impact Hernandez appears likely to miss the first few weeks of the season, but because he's reportedly resumed playing catch since being diagnosed with the right shoulder strain, the 27-year-old could be ready to pitch in games by late April or early May. Though the Mets had initially earmarked Hernandez for a spot in the Triple-A Syracuse rotation, he could end up getting a look in Queens sooner than anticipated with two big-league starters -- Justin Verlander (shoulder) and Jose Quintana (rib) -- already joining him on the shelf to begin the season.
MARCH 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Beginning season on injured list Hernandez will begin the season on the injured list because of a right shoulder strain, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hernandez is already back to playing catch, per DiComo, but he has a lot of build-up to do before he can become an option for the Mets. The 27-year-old figures to spend some time in the rotation at Triple-A Syracuse whenever he does return to full health.
MARCH 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Likely headed to Syracuse Hernandez is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Syracuse and remained stretched out as a starter, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact "I think he's probably a little more [comfortable] from the starting standpoint, but with the ability to go into the bullpen," Mets manager Buck Showalter said Sunday. This was always the likely plan for Hernandez, and even after injuries hit the New York rotation in camp, David Peterson and Tylor Megill were viewed as the next men up. Hernandez didn't do much to force the issue this spring, posting a 7.45 ERA and 6:5 K:BB through 9.2 Grapefruit League innings.
MARCH 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Staying stretched out Hernandez will get stretched out as a starter during spring training but is expected to begin the regular season in the rotation with Triple-A Syracuse, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com r...
Impact The Mets have five veteran starters on guaranteed contracts, which means when everyone is healthy, depth options like Hernandez will either work out of the big-league bullpen or get stashed at Syracuse. As the former Marlin has minor-league options remaining, the latter route seems more likely to begin the season. Hernandez made 10 of his 20 appearances for Miami last season as a starter, but his lack of plus stuff and difficulties keeping the ball in the park mean a long-relief role is likely his best path to a consistent spot in the majors.

Impact Hernandez will make his way to New York after being designated for assignment by the Marlins on Tuesday and dealt via trade a few days later. The right-hander appeared in 20 games with the Marlins in 2022, including 10 starts, producing an inflated 6.35 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 62.1 innings. Hernandez will provide the Mets with an additional depth option for their starting rotation.

NOVEMBER 16, 2022 • Associated Press
DFA'd by Miami Hernandez was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Tuesday.
Impact Hernandez opened 2022 in Miami's starting rotation but was demoted to the minors in June. He started in 10 of 20 appearances and finished with a 6.35 ERA across 62.1 innings, so the Marlins decided not to keep him on the 40-man roster through the offseason.
NOVEMBER 16, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Ends mediocre 2022 with no-decision Hernandez did not factor in the decision against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out three batters over four innings.
Impact Hernandez was called up from the minors -- where he spent half of August and all of September -- to start Miami's regular-season finale, and the right-hander's disappointing outing was reflective of his overall campaign. Hernandez was expected to be a steady contributor at the back end of the the Marlins' rotation this year but struggled to a 6.35 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 3-6 record over 20 games (10 starts). He's yet to reach 83 major-league innings through five big-league campaigns.

The Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves meet on Wednesday with the winner claiming the three-game series

Starting game 162 Hernandez will start Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact The right-hander was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday and will start the final game of the season for Miami. Hernandez opened the season in the rotation but was demoted in early June, and he has a 6.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 57:22 K:BB across 58.1 innings
OCTOBER 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Called up Monday Hernandez was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hernandez has been in the minors since mid-August, but he'll rejoin the Marlins' active roster after Edward Cabrera (ankle) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Since Sandy Alcantara won't start Wednesday's regular-season finale against Atlanta, Hernandez should be considered a strong candidate to start as long as he isn't used out of the bullpen Monday or Tuesday.
OCTOBER 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Sent to minors Hernandez was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Hernandez surrendered three runs over one inning during Wednesday's game against the Padres, and he'll now head down to the minors. The 27-year-old has appeared in 19 games this season (nine starts) and has a 6.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 57:22 K:BB across 58.1 innings.
AUGUST 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Returns from injured list Hernandez was activated off the COVID-19 injured list Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Hernandez had been out for just over two weeks due to the illness. He's ready to go after throwing a pair of scoreless rehab innings. The righty had transitioned to a relief role prior to his absence and looks set to remain in that role down the stretch.
