Stays productive Friday White went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Impact Getting a rare start against a right-handed pitcher, White laced an RBI double off Zac Gallen in the second inning. White has seen his usage pick up over the last couple weeks as Atlanta looks for some production from its corner-outfield spots, and he's responded by going 6-for-18 (.333) in eight games (five starts) since April 14 with two doubles, a homer, five RBI and seven runs.

Impact Making his sixth start of the season Wednesday, White picked a good time to come through with his first home run of the campaign. He stepped to the plate with one out and two runners on in a 1-1 game in the bottom of the eighth inning and sent a Ryan Fernandez slider 434 feet to left field to give Atlanta its fifth win in six games. White is unlikely to fall into extra playing time as a result of his heroics, as manager Brian Snitker is likely to primarily deploy the 30-year-old mainly as a replacement in the lineup for Alex Verdugo or Jarred Kelenic in the corner outfield when Atlanta faces left-handed pitching.

Impact The 30-year-old utility player has started two straight games as Atlanta tries to find some production in its outfield, but White's window for playing time is likely to close quickly. Alex Verdugo is expected to join the big-league roster at some point this week, while Ronald Acuna (knee) remains on track for an early-May season debut. If White keeps his spot on the 26-man roster, his best route to at-bats would likely come as a short-side platoon partner for Verdugo.

Impact White will enter the lineup for the second game in a row. While filling in for a resting Bryan De La Cruz in left field in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Rays, White went 0-for-2 with a walk. De La Cruz is back in action Monday, but he'll serve as Atlanta's designated hitter after Marcell Ozuna (hip) didn't make the trip to Toronto for the three-game series. Atlanta is hopeful that Ozuna will return to the lineup for Friday's series opener versus Minnesota, so White's run as a starter will likely be short-lived.

On track for bench role White appears to be on his way to winning a utility role with Atlanta over Luke Williams, Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Impact Both players can play the infield and the outfield, but White has raked this spring, batting .455 (10-for-22) in 11 Grapefruit League appearances with a 1:2 BB:K while Williams has gone just 2-for-26 (.077). White would be unlikely to see much playing time in a bench role, as manager Brian Snitker tends to give his starters all the work they can handle, but the 30-year-old could get some early opportunities. With Ronald Acuna (knee) set to begin the season on the IL, Jurickson Profar (wrist) not 100 percent, and Jarred Kelenic and Bryan De La Cruz set to form a shaky platoon in right field, White might be needed in the outfield corners more than expected. His career .568 OPS in the majors is ugly, but White did slash .294/.388/.447 with eight homers and 24 steals in 26 attempts over 78 games for Triple-A Gwinnet last year.
