Heads to minors camp
The Reds optioned Arroyo to minor-league camp Friday.
Impact
Arroyo netted a spot on the Reds' 40-man roster this offseason, but he wasn't under real consideration to crack the Opening Day roster. The 22-year-old will get his first taste of Triple-A Louisville this season.

Added to 40-man roster
The Reds selected Arroyo's contract from Double-A Chattanooga on Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Impact
Arroyo slashed .284/.345/.371 with three home runs and 12 stolen bases over 120 games with Chattanooga in 2025 after missing the 2024 campaign due to shoulder labrum surgery. The 22-year-old is now on the 40-man roster and could move up to Triple-A Louisville to begin the 2026 season.

Cut from big-league camp
The Reds reassigned Arroyo to minor-league camp Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact
The 21-year-old Arroyo is coming off a lost 2024 season following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, so it's no surprise that he's a relatively early cut by the Reds. Arroyo finished the 2023 campaign at Double-A Chattanooga and is likely headed back there to begin this season.

Makes impression
Arroyo has had a chance to play early in training camp due to injuries in the infield, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Arroyo has taken advantage of playing time with Jonathan India (foot) and Matt McLain (oblique) still working their way back to game action. And Noelvi Marte only recently returned injury. Arroyo, acquired along with Marte in the trade that sent Luis Castillo to Seattle, has flashed highlight-worthy defense at shortstop and has hit in a small sample size. The 20-year-old with 5-for-12 with two doubles, a stolen base, three RBI and more walks (three) than strikeouts (two).

Strong finish at High-A
Arroyo is slashing .293/.376/.508 with nine home runs, 24 steals and a 19.4 percent strikeout rate in his last 79 games for High-A Dayton.
Impact
His season line (.257/.332/.444) and 116 wRC+ are strong for a good defensive infielder like Arroyo who didn't turn 20 until August, but he really came on strong over the final three-plus months of the season. The young switch hitter had a strong first full season in the Reds organization after getting traded from Seattle at last year's deadline in the Luis Castillo trade. Arroyo should head to Double-A next year as a 20-year-old.

Healthy again at High-A
Arroyo (hip) has gone 3-for-12 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and three runs in three games since being reinstated from High-A Dayton's 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Impact
Arroyo missed about a week and a half of action due to the left hip strain before returning to the Louisville lineup Tuesday. The 19-year-old switch-hitting infielder is in his first full season in the Cincinnati organization after he was part of the three-prospect package the Reds took back in a deal with Seattle for Luis Castillo at last summer's trade deadline.
