Impact Colina's trio of appearances are his first in affiliated ball since the 2020 season, when he received his first taste of the majors as a member of the Twins organization. He missed the 2021 and 2022 seasons and the first two months of the 2023 campaign while recovering from a debridement procedure of his right elbow, but he's been effective in his initial outings with Round Rock.

Impact Colina was claimed off waivers by Texas in early October but will now be cast off the 40-man roster. The right-hander underwent a season-ending arthroscopic debridement of his posterior elbow in late May, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be ready for spring training in 2022.

Impact After making his MLB debut last September as a reliever for Minnesota, Colina remained on the Twins' 40-man roster heading into the 2021 campaign. The hard-throwing righty was expected to contend for a role in the Minnesota bullpen, but he never gained any traction in his bid for a spot on the Opening Day roster after experiencing elbow inflammation in the spring. Colina made limited progress in his recovery over the following two months before eventually undergoing a season-ending arthroscopic debridement of his posterior elbow in late May. Minnesota's decision to expose him to waivers suggests the organization wasn't confident in his long-term outlook, but the Rangers will take a flier on the 24-year-old with the hope of a healthy return to action in 2021. He'll be placed on the 60-day injured list for now, but the Rangers will eventually need to activate him and clear a spot for him on the 40-man roster once he's deemed 100 percent.
