Impact The lefty-hitting Julien had started in each of the last four games at second base, but he'll head to the bench Monday while Atlanta sends southpaw Max Fried to the hill. Julien could be at risk of losing out on his large-side platoon role and may even be demoted to Triple-A St. Paul at some point during the upcoming week, as fellow infielder Brooks Lee (bicep/shoulder) looks to be nearing a return from the 10-day injured list.

Racks up four hits in rout Julien went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs in Wednesday's 11-4 victory against the Padres.

Impact Julien entered Wednesday having collected just two hits over 10 at-bats since returning from the minors Aug. 15. He doubled that hit total in the rout over the Padres, notching his first four-hit game since August of last year. He's gaining some traction in the Twins' lineup, starting four of the team's past six games with Brooks Lee on the injured list due to a shoulder injury.

Impact Julien's presence as a second base option could allow Willi Castro to play some in center field while Byron Buxton (hip) is out if the Twins want to go that route. The 25-year-old has slashed .204/.311/.354 with seven home runs and six stolen bases over 63 contests at the major-league level this season.

Impact Julien was brought up from Triple-A last Saturday in order to make up for the loss of Carlos Correa (heel), and he'll now return to the minors as Jose Miranda (back) returns from the injured list. During his latest stint with the Twins, Julien went 2-for-12 with eight strikeouts over five games. He's had better luck with St. Paul, posting a .780 OPS through 165 plate appearances on the year, though he still has yet to find the same amount of success at the plate he did in 2023.

Impact Following his promotion from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Julien started at second base for both games of the Twins' series with the Brewers, going 1-for-4 with a pair of walks. Though he should have a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching while the Twins are without Royce Lewis (groin) and Carlos Correa (heel), the lefty-hitting Julien will likely sit frequently against left-handers. Julien will cede the keystone to Brooks Lee on Monday while the Twins take on southpaw Ranger Suarez.

However, he hit just .195 with a .447 OPS against left-handed pitching. Julien will become the primary starter at second base after the trade of Jorge Polanco but will likely be platooned with Kyle Farmer.
