Removed from 40-man roster Atlanta designated Rosario for assignment Thursday.

Impact Rosario's reunion with Atlanta made sense on paper, but the results simply weren't there, with the veteran outfielder slashing just .154/.181/.282 with a 23:3 K:BB over 24 contests. The 32-year-old will pass through waivers and eventually be released, at which point he will seek a job in a new organization. For now, Adam Duvall will see more action in left field with Rosario out of the mix. However, Michael Harris (hamstring) is due back soon, at which point Jarred Kelenic will return to left field.

Getting rare day off versus righty Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Impact Atlanta is facing a right-handed starter (Freddy Peralta) for the ninth game in a row Wednesday, but the lefty-hitting Rosario will give way to the right-handed-hitting Adam Duvall for the first time during that stretch. Manager Brian Snitker might have just wanted to get Duvall some work to keep him sharp at the plate, but Rosario hasn't done much to justify maintaining a strong-side platoon role. Since joining Atlanta on July 8, Rosario is slashing .154/.181/.282 with a 27.4 percent strikeout rate.
