Another start Wednesday Canzone is starting in left field and batting seventh Wednesday versus the Red Sox.

Impact Acquired from Arizona on Monday in the Paul Sewald trade, Canzone drew the start in right field Tuesday in his Mariners debut and went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. The 25-year-old posted impressive offensive numbers throughout the Diamondbacks' minor-league system and could potentially carve out a regular role with Seattle as Jarred Kelenic recovers from a fractured foot.

Doubles in team debut Canzone, traded from the Diamondbacks on Monday, went 1-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Impact Canzone drew the start in right field in his Mariners debut and was able to contribute his fourth major-league extra-base hit. The two-bagger reignited some of the modest momentum the rookie had begun building at the plate prior to the trade, as he'd authored three consecutive two-hit efforts -- two of them during the weekend series against his current team -- before going 0-for-3 in his final game for Arizona on Monday.

Traded to Seattle Canzone was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Mariners on Monday along with Josh Rojas and Ryan Bliss in exchange for Paul Sewald, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Impact Canzone is an interesting target for Seattle, as he has some Quad-A characteristics, making his big-league debut at age 25 after dominating (.354/.431/.634 slash line) in a return trip to Triple-A this season. He has a .237/.293/.368 slash line with one home run and a 19.5 percent strikeout rate in 41 MLB plate appearances. Canzone, who has played right field and designated hitter, could slot in as Seattle's primary right fielder once they unload Teoscar Hernandez, as expected.

Delivers key hit in win Canzone went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over Seattle.

Impact Canzone singled through a drawn-in infield to score Corbin Carroll from third base for the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning. It was the third consecutive start for Canzone, who delivered two hits in all three with four RBI. All three starts have come at designated hitter, a position that's largely been handled by Lourdes Gurriel and Evan Longoria (back). Given Canzone's hot bat, along with Longoria on the injured and Gurriel slumping, he could get more opportunities in the short term.

Impact Canzone, who registered his first hit in the majors in Tuesday's series opener, belted his first MLB homer in the seventh inning to give Arizona a brief lead. His was the first of back-to-back homers, as Emmanuel Rivera followed up to increase the lead. Canzone has made three starts since being called up from Triple-A Reno earlier this month. The Diamondbacks are stacked in the outfield, and it's hard to see how Canzone can get significant plate appearances.

Selected for MLB debut Arizona selected Canzone's contract from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Impact Canzone has put up excellent numbers throughout the minors since being selected in the eighth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Ohio State. That includes a .354/.321/.634 bating line with 16 homers and 71 RBI through 71 games this season at Reno. The 25-year-old can play both corner outfield spots and might also be an option at DH, though he's stepping into a fairly crowded situation with a NL West-leading Diamondbacks team. Canzone may have to impress right away to earn regular playing time.
