Gets MiLB deal from Kansas City The Royals signed Lamet to a minor-league contract Friday.
Impact Lamet had remained a free agent since opting out of his minor-league contract with the Dodgers back in early June, but he's finally latched on with another organization. The veteran right-hander had been pitching mostly as a starter with Triple-A Oklahoma City, but it's not clear whether the Royals are planning on a starting or relief role for Lamet at Triple-A Omaha.

Designated for assignment The Dodgers designated Lamet for assignment Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact Lamet earned the first save of his career Wednesday against the Giants, but he will now be jettisoned off the Dodgers' 40-man roster. His spot will be given to Gus Varland, who was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.
APRIL 6, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Promotion on tap The Dodgers are expected to call up Lamet from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Monday's game against the Giant, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Impact Lamet doesn't currently have a spot on the 40-man roster, so the Dodgers will likely need to make a corresponding transaction to facilitate his move to the big club. The right-hander was unable to win a spot in the Dodgers' Opening Day bullpen, but he impressed in the Cactus League with five strikeouts over 3.2 innings while allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk.
APRIL 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Opts for free agency Lamet elected free agency Monday.
Impact Lamet passed through waivers unclaimed after the Red Sox removed him from their 40-man roster, but he's decided to decline an outright assignment and look for a gig in a new location. The veteran right-hander holds an ugly 11.71 ERA over 17 appearances -- four starts -- at the big-league level in 2023.
AUGUST 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Jettisoned from 40-man roster Lamet was designated for assignment Wednesday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Impact Lamet's stint with the Red Sox lasted just one day, as he allowed three runs over two innings in Tuesday's loss to the Royals. He'll go through the waiver process and can elect free agency if he clears.

Four things to know about Red Sox reliever Dinelson Lamet - The Boston Globe Lamet was brought into the bullpen from Worcester on Monday.
AUGUST 8, 2023 • BOSTONGLOBE.COM
Summoned to majors Lamet's contract was selected from Triple-A Worcester on Monday.
Impact He signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on June 28 and has logged a 3.72 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 19.1 innings over his last five appearances. Lamet went five innings deep in his two most recent games, so he will be capable of logging multiple innings per appearance, presumably out of the bullpen.

Desperate for pitching depth, Red Sox take a chance on recently released Dinelson Lamet As the Red Sox fall under .500, they're looking for possibilities to offer them stability in their pitching staff.

Inks minors deal with Boston Lamet signed a minor-league contract Tuesday with the Red Sox.
Impact Lamet was cut loose by the Rockies last week after struggling to an 11.57 ERA in four starts and 12 relief appearances covering 25.2 innings. The 30-year-old former Padres prospect still has intriguing raw stuff, but it's been a while now since he enjoyed sustained success at the major-league level. He'll report to the Triple-A affiliate of the Red Sox in Worcester.
JUNE 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Released by Rockies Lamet was released by the Rockies on Thursday.
Impact The 30-year-old righty showed significant promise in 2020 with the Padres after flashing upside in 2019 but he has been trending down each year since then, in part due to injuries. He had an 11.57 ERA in 25.2 innings with the Rockies and was bad as both a starter and a reliever. It's possible he will catch on elsewhere, but it is unlikely to be in a fantasy-relevant role.

DFA'd by Rox The Rockies designated Lamet for assignment Saturday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact After surrendering eight runs over the course of four innings Friday against Atlanta, Lamet's ERA soared to 11.57 on the season, and he has now lost his spot on the team. His impressive Triple-A statline (0.84 ERA, 0.69 WHIP) will help his chances of getting claimed by another team, but Lamet's fantasy value remains low until he can consistently provide positive results. Gavin Hollowell was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Crushed by Atlanta Lamet (1-4) took the loss Friday as the Rockies were routed 8-1 by Atlanta, surrendering eight runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- and five walks over four innings. H...
Impact The right-hander had neither control nor command, throwing 46 of 89 pitches for strikes and catching far too much of the plate when he did find the strike zone, and Atlanta pushed multiple runs across the plate in three of the four frames Lamet worked. The 30-year-old has a 10.80 ERA and 18:10 K:BB through 15 innings over four starts since moving into Colorado's rotation, and it's fair to wonder how much longer the team will stick with him before shifting him back to the bullpen. If he does get another start, Lamet's next turn lines up for a road series next week in Cincinnati.

Decent against former team Lamet allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Sunday.
Impact This was Lamet's first start against the Padres, though he previously faced them in relief appearances twice early in the season. He held his own Sunday, and the Rockies ultimately won 5-4 with a walk-off home run by Nolan Jones after a rain delay. Lamet has now allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over 11 innings across three starts. He's at a 10.38 ERA, 2.31 WHIP and 26:17 K:BB through 21.2 innings, but Sunday's outing appeared to be a step in the right direction. He's tentatively lined up to make his next start on the road in Atlanta.
JUNE 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Takes third loss Lamet (1-3) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over three innings, taking the loss versus the Giants on Tuesday.
Impact Lamet again failed to pitch very deep into the game, and it was a laborious effort that saw him throw just 46 of 83 pitches for strikes. He's lost both of his starts this season, allowing eight runs over six innings, but the Rockies are lacking for better options in the rotation at this time. Over 14 appearances this season, he's logged an awful 12.42 ERA with a 2.46 WHIP and 21:14 K:BB through 16.2 innings. If Lamet gets another start, it would likely be over the weekend at home versus his former team, the Padres.
JUNE 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Gets another start Lamet is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Giants at Coors Field.
Impact In his return from the 15-day injured list last Wednesday for his first MLB start since 2021, Lamet lasted just three innings in a loss to Arizona, surrendering five earned runs on seven hits. On a positive note, Lamet carried over the improved control he showcased during his three-start rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque, issuing no walks while striking out four. The Rockies saw enough positives from Lamet in the outing and have few attractive alternatives available for the rotation, so the right-hander will get another opportunity to try and deliver better results Tuesday.
JUNE 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Ugly outing in short start Lamet (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing five runs on seven hits without walking a batter over just three innings. He struck out four.
Impact Lamet was activated off the IL ahead of Wednesday to make his first start since 2021 and did not fare well. The 30-year-old gave up three runs on four hits in the opening frame and then surrendered another two runs in the second before tossing a scoreless third. He was pulled after three at 71 pitches after reaching 63 pitches during his final rehab assignment and should have a longer leash as he continues to build up stamina. Assuming manager Bud Black keeps him in the rotation, Lamet will line up to take the mound next week in a home matchup against the Giants.
JUNE 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Comes off IL to start Wednesday Colorado reinstated Lamet (back) off the 15-day injured list to start against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Impact Lamet ended up missing close to a month after being placed on the 15-day injured list May 4 with stiffness in his lower back. The right-hander was operating out of the bullpen at the time, but he was stretched out during his minor-league rehab assignment and now will get a chance to give the Rockies' rotation an added boost. Lamet has shown flashes of brilliance as a starter when he was a member of the Padres, but he's struggled to be able to stick on the mound with a litany of injuries from 2017 through 2021. He's an intriguing speculative add, and one that makes more sense to have in a fantasy lineup when he's not pitching in the unfriendly confines of Coors Field. One of those opportunities for Lamet comes Wednesday in his outing against Arizona.
MAY 31, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Likely to return, start Wednesday The Rockies are expected to reinstate Lamet (back) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and have him start that night in Arizona, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact After making the third start of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Lamet returned to Colorado on Sunday and was spotted throwing on the field. The right-hander stretched out to 63 pitches in his final start with Albuquerque and looks poised to provide aid to a Colorado rotation that has been plagued by injury and poor performance throughout the season. Though Lamet has largely operated as a reliever in the majors for the past two and a half seasons, he delivered a 3.78 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 21.4 K-BB% across 56 starts with San Diego from 2017 through 2021. The 30-year-old right-hander could make for an interesting speculative pickup in deeper leagues, especially after he dazzled over his three-start rehab assignment (0.84 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB in 10.2 innings).
MAY 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Looking sharp on rehab assignment Lamet (back) struck out six over 4.2 scoreless innings in his rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. He gave up just two hits and one walk.
Impact Making the third start of his rehab assignment with Albuquerque, Lamet delivered an impressive follow-up effort after he tossed four perfect innings his last time out May 20. Just as he did in his prior two starts, Lamet did well to pound the zone, permitting just one free pass on the night while spotting 42 of his 63 pitches for strikes. The Rockies haven't decided whether Lamet will need one more rehab start to build his pitch count or if he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list for his next outing, but the right-hander at least looks like he'll get an extended trial in the big-league rotation. Since the second half of the 2021 season, Lamet has worked exclusively as a reliever in the big leagues, but he turned in a 3.78 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 21.4 K-BB% across 56 starts with San Diego from 2017 through 2021.
MAY 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Another rehab start Friday Lamet (back) will make another rehab start Friday with Triple-A Albuquerque, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
Impact Lamet is being stretched out for a possible rotation role with the Rockies as he nears the end of his recovery from a back injury. He's looked sharp in his two rehab starts so far with Albuquerque, tallying five strikeouts with no walks over six innings of one-run ball.
