Javier Báez - Scratched from Thursday's lineup Baez (hand) was scratched from the Tigers' lineup ahead of Thursday's game against Baltimore, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Impact Baez's left hand is still sore after getting hit by a pitch Wednesday against the Brewers, and it will now officially cost him at least one start. In Baez's absence, Nick Maton will shift to shortstop, Zach McKinstry moves to third base, and Jonathan Schoop will start at second.

Tarik Skubal - To throw bullpen Friday Skubal (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Impact It will be the first mound work for Skubal since he underwent left flexor tendon surgery last August. The 26-year-old southpaw still has many boxes to check in his rehab, but he could perhaps be an option for the Tigers' starting rotation around early June. He was placed on the 60-day injured list before Opening Day.

Javier Báez - Back in lineup Baez (hand) is back in the Tigers' lineup for Thursday's game versus the Orioles.
Impact Baez had to exit Wednesday's game against the Brewers after being hit on the left hand by a pitch, but X-rays came back clean and he won't miss any starts. The veteran shortstop is still looking for his first home run of the season but had carried a 10-game hitting streak into Wednesday's action.

Jace Fry - Nursing sore elbow at Triple-A Fry is currently sidelined at Triple-A Toledo with left elbow inflammation, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact Fry is being evaluated and receiving "conservative" treatment, so it seems as if he'll probably be out a while. The lefty holds a 4.50 ERA over seven appearances with Toledo this season and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2021.
APRIL 27, 2023 ROTOWIRE
Trevor Rosenthal - Nursing sprained elbow Rosenthal is currently sidelined at Triple-A Toledo by a right elbow sprain, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact Rosenthal made two appearances with Toledo before getting hurt, allowing one run with a 1:3 K:BB over two innings. He's going through physical therapy right now and it's not clear how long it might be before he's allowed to throw again. Rosenthal had Tommy John surgery back in 2017 and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2020 due to shoulder and hip issues.
