Impact After opener Beau Brieske tossed 1.1 innings to begin the game, Sammons took over and pitched well, though he left with the Tigers trailing 1-0. While the righty was unable to pick up his first MLB win, he did manage to lower his ERA to 3.38 to go along with a stellar 0.70 WHIP across 18.2 innings. Sammons is still mostly off the fantasy radar due to his long-relief role, though he could become more valuable if he enters the rotation at some point.

Impact It was about the easiest first career MLB save imaginable for Wentz, as he entered the game with that 15-1 lead already established. The lefty came into the night with a 6.57 ERA and 2.11 WHIP since the start of July, so it was refreshing to see him pitch well, even in the low-leverage spot. Wentz has limited fantasy value moving forward, however, given his role and lack of consistency.

The 31-year-old's six-year, $140 million contract, which was signed before the 2022 season, continues to look like a massive sunk cost for the Tigers.

Impact Madris was ostensibly seen as a depth piece when he was called up from Triple-A Toledo in late July, but he's forced his way into regular playing time. The 28-year-old is batting .304 with five RBI and eight runs scored in 18 games for the Tigers. Madris may not be in the team's long-term plans, but he should continue to see the field plenty in the short term.

Impact It was an unexpected monster performance for Rogers, who came into the contest mired in a 1-for-23 slump and sporting just a .591 OPS overall. The seven RBI in a game are also a new career high for the catcher.
