Rookie Slugger Munetaka Murakami Looks Right At Home With Young White Sox
Logs another quality start Martin (6-1) earned the win against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven across six innings. He did not issue a walk.
Impact Martin's excellent 2026 campaign continued Saturday, and he set the tone early by retiring the first nine batters he faced. He yielded a home run to Miguel Amaya in the sixth inning before allowing two more baserunners, but Martin got out of the inning by striking out the last two batters of the frame. Martin's six wins and seven quality starts are both tied for most in the American League, and his 1.61 ERA and 0.98 WHIP (across 56 innings) are both third-best in the AL. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend against the Giants in San Francisco.

2026 MLB Power Rankings: Who is Each Team’s Early Season Standout Starter?
Excellent campaign continues Martin didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Mariners, allowing one run on three hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out nine.
Impact The 29-year-old right-hander continues deal for the White Sox, having now pitched at five innings while yielding two runs or fewer in seven consecutive starts. Martin also generated an impressive 19 whiffs Sunday, fanning at least seven in his fourth straight outing. He has a stellar 1.62 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 52:10 K:BB over 50 innings, but Martin is set to face one of his toughest tests of 2026 against the Cubs next weekend.

Dominates with career-high 10 Ks Martin (5-1) earned the win over the Angels on Monday, allowing five hits and striking out 10 batters without issuing a walk over seven scoreless innings.
Impact Martin has had a great season so far, and this was his best performance to date. The right-hander not only established a career-best mark with 10 punchouts, he also tied his career high with 19 whiffs (nine of which came on his slider). Martin needed just 85 pitches to get through seven frames, registering his fifth quality start through seven outings. Since yielding three runs over five innings in his season debut against Miami, Martin hasn't surrendered more than two runs in any of his subsequent six starts, and he's gone at least 5.2 frames in each of those appearances. His numbers put him among the top pitchers in MLB so far this season, as he currently ranks third among qualified starters in ERA (1.64) while posting a 1.02 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB along with a 5-1 record through 44 innings.

Seven strikeouts in fourth win Martin (4-1) earned the win Tuesday against the Angels, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts across 5.2 innings.
Impact The right-hander continues to dazzle for Chicago, as Martin has posted back-to-back seven-strikeout outings and wraps up his April having allowed just five earned runs across 32 innings to go along with a 27:6 K:BB. Martin is fourth in the league in pitching WAR (1.8) and eighth in ERA (1.95). His 2.86 FIP suggests Martin's results are legit after he out-dueled Jose Soriano on Tuesday. Martin is throwing his fastball less this season and has upped the usage on his sinker, slider and changeup. Martin is scheduled to again face the Angels on the road next week for his next start.

Strong start continues Thursday Martin took a no-decision Thursday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on six hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.
Impact The 29-year-old right-hander continues to be a bright spot for White Sox to begin the 2026 campaign. Martin fanned a season-high seven Thursday, and he even spun at least six frames while yielding two runs or fewer in his fourth consecutive start. He holds an outstanding 2.01 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB over 31.1 innings thus far, so Martin will be hoping to keep the good times rolling in his next scheduled outing versus the Angels.

Munetaka Murakami Hits 1st MLB Grand Slam as White Sox Thump Athletics
Lowers ERA to 2.16 with third win Martin (3-1) earned the win Friday against the Athletics, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts across seven innings.
Impact Martin doesn't possess the best stuff, but he's been able to locate his pitches through four starts and is eating innings for Chicago. Martin has now gone seven innings in back-to-back starts against the Royals and Athletics and has done so on fewer than 90 pitches both times. The 29-year-old lowered his ERA to 2.16 and owns a 19:6 K:BB across 25 innings. Without swing-and-miss stuff, Martin doesn't carry much fantasy upside. He's slated to face the Diamondbacks in Arizona next week.

Goes seven strong in loss Martin (2-1) took the loss Friday against the Royals, allowing two runs seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts across seven innings.
Impact Martin was terrific again Friday, but Kris Bubic was better, as Bubic fanned a career-high 11 batters across seven shutout innings. Martin's blemishes were an RBI double allowed to Bobby Witt in the fourth and a solo shot given up to Carter Jensen in the seventh. Martin has now posted back-to-back strong outings after he went six shutout frames in a win over the Blue Jays last weekend. Through three starts, Martin owns a 2.50 ERA and 15:7 K:BB across 18 innings. He's lined up to face the Rays at home Thursday.

Goes six scoreless for second win Martin (2-0) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings.
Impact Martin needed just 85 pitches to log a quality start while limiting the defending American League champions to only singles . The 29-year-old has picked up back-to-back wins to open the season, allowing three runs over 11 innings with a 12:4 K:BB. He lines up for a road matchup against the Royals next weekend.

Nabs first win in season debut Martin (1-0) tallied the win Monday against the Marlins, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact Martin wasn't spectacular in his season debut, but he received plenty of run support and was able to nab his first win of the year. The right-hander wasn't particularly efficient either, throwing just 54 of his 92 pitches for strikes, and three of his hits given up went for extra bases. Martin's next start is scheduled for this weekend at home versus the Blue Jays, making him difficult to trust in fantasy lineups in a tough matchup.
