Cut loose by Rockies Dahl (shoulder) was non-tendered by the Rockies on Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Impact On its face, this may seem like a surprise, but Dahl has not only been hurt regularly over his time with Colorado, but he hasn't been that productive recently either. Dahl's wRC+ has declined since his rookie season in 2016, and the 100 games he played in 2019 mark a career high. Without the benefit of Coors Field, his fantasy stock is now at an all-time low. He underwent shoulder surgery in September and his expected to be ready for spring training.

Placed on 45-day injured list Dahl was placed on the 45-day injured list with a right shoulder strain Wednesday.

Impact Dahl wasn't in the lineup over the past two games, and he'll be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season due to his shoulder injury. The 26-year-old only appeared in 24 games during the abbreviated 2020 season while battling injuries, and he struggled while slashing .183/.222/.247 with four extra-base hits and nine RBI. He'll now shift his focus toward preparing for spring training in 2021 while Kevin Pillar and Sam Hilliard could take over in center field over the final several games of the regular season.

It's possible Dahl isn't yet fully healthy, as both games came against right-handed pitchers. It's also possible that the Rockies simply don't view Dahl as one of their top three outfielders at the moment, as he's hitting just .189/.238/.243 in 80 plate appearances.
