He's been pretty lousy overall, hitting just .221/.253/.343 with four homers, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 7:47 BB:K over 183 plate appearances. He's only 27 and has room for improvement but hasn't the same since 2019 when he made the All-Star Game.

Though he has only a 59 wRC+ across 173 plate appearances on the campaign, Dahl has recorded at least on hit in three of his last five starts.

Impact This was Dahl's first start since being activated off the injured list. He spent nearly a month on the IL with injured ribs, which included a significant two-week rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock. "He's fully healthy," manager Chris Woodward told Doug Drawley of the Dallas Morning News. "We had a progression for him and didn't rush him back. He's playing with some confidence and can help us offensively. Especially since he was struggling before." Dahl hit just .207 with four home runs and 12 RBI over 43 games prior to hitting the injured list.

Activated from injured list Dahl (ribs) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Impact Dahl had been on the injured list since May 26 due to a left rib cage contusion, and he dealt with back issues in early June. The 27-year-old spent just under two weeks on a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock, and he hit .412 with a home run, a triple, a double, nine RBI, eight runs and a stolen base across nine games. Dahl should reclaim a regular spot in the lineup going forward, while catcher Jose Trevino (forearm) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Impact Dahl hit the IL on May 26 with a left rib cage contusion. The outfielder later developed back issues in early June, which may have pushed back his eventual rehab assignment. There were rumblings that Dahl would be activated to take Willie Calhoun's (forearm) roster spot prior to Sunday's game against the Royals, but Woodward said that the club didn't want to rush him back too soon. Jason Martin was recalled instead and could wind up being the odd man out again when Dahl returns in the next few days.

Rehab moves to Frisco Dahl (ribs) recently had his rehab assignment transferred from Triple-A Round Rock to Double-A Frisco, Kevin Sherrington of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Impact Dahl was with Round Rock while it was on a homestand but will move to Frisco with the Express headed out on the road. He slugged a home run and knocked in four for Frisco on Wednesday, the fourth game of his rehab assignment. It's unclear when the Rangers plan to activate him, but he may not have an everyday role in Texas. The club has been intrigued by the improvement of Eli White, who is slashing .293/.370/.585 with three home runs since his callup 12 games ago.
