Exits Saturday's game Thomas left in the sixth inning of Saturday's spring game against the Rangers due to a knee injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Impact Thomas took a hard liner to the right knee from Brent Rooker while standing on third base. Thomas exited the game with the help of a trainer, and the club should provide an update on the 24-year-old once he's undergone further testing. Thomas spent the second half of the 2024 regular season with Triple-A Las Vegas and finished with a slash line of .272/.344/.559 with 17 home runs and 45 RBI across 314 plate appearances.

Excelling at Triple-A level Thomas owns a .306 average and .979 OPS across 165 plate appearances over 37 games with Triple-A Las Vegas since being promoted to the affiliate June 18.

Impact The Athletics' No. 2 prospect is delivering amply on his potential, actually outperforming his Double-A numbers by a comfortable margin and impressively generating 24 extra-base hits across his 44 knocks. The one minor quibble with Thomas' production with the Aviators is that his stolen-base numbers are down -- he's just 2-for-5 in that department -- but his prior body of work in the minors suggests that's more of an outlier.
