Christian Arroyo - Heads to bench Monday Arroyo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Impact While Enrique Hernandez was sidelined for the final two games of the Red Sox's weekend series with the Guardians, Arroyo started at shortstop in both contests and went 5-for-7 with a double, two walks, four RBI and three runs. Despite the big finish to the weekend, Arroyo will hit the bench Monday with Hernandez returning to action at shortstop and with rookie Enmanuel Valdez getting another turn at second base. Since Valdez is a left-handed hitter, the righty-hitting Arroyo could end up settling into a short-side platoon role at the keystone.

David Fry - Added to roster The Guardians selected Fry's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Monday.
Impact Fry, 27, has hit .289/.381/.478 with two homers for Columbus this season. He's played first base, third base and second base this season and also has past experience at catcher. Fry will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

Triston Casas - Back in action Casas is back in the Red Sox' lineup Monday against the Blue Jays after being given consecutive days off, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Impact Manager Alex Cora wanted to give the struggling Casas a couple days off in a row to clear his head, but the rookie is back in there against Jose Berrios. Casas has just a .576 OPS in 25 games this season.
