Logan Allen - Sharp again in lossAllen (1-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings against the Red Sox. He struck out eight.
ImpactAllen was good again in his second MLB start. He allowed just two runs on Alex Verdugo's two-run single in the fifth inning. However, he took his first loss as the Guardians could only provide one supporting run. Allen has now struck out eight batters in each of his first two outings while issuing just three walks. The 24-year-old left-hander has a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through his first 11 innings. Allen will likely make at least one more start for Cleveland with Triston McKenzie (shoulder) and Aaron Civale (oblique) still sidelined.

Chris Sale - Bounces back SundaySale (2-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits over 6.1 innings against the Guardians. He struck out five.
ImpactIt was an encouraging performance from Sale after he allowed seven runs in three innings in his last outing against Baltimore. The veteran left-hander kept the Guardians off the board until Amed Rosario's RBI single in the sixth inning. Sale's ERA still sits at an unsightly 6.75 with a 1.47 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB. He'll look to build on Sunday's positive outing in his next start, tentatively lined up for next week in Philadelphia.
