Out until mid- to late-May Yelich (groin) is expected to be sidelined until mid- to late-May, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Yelich landed on the 10-day injured list earlier Tuesday with a left adductor strain, and it appears he's looking at a 4-to-6 week absence. It's a significant loss for the Brewers and for fantasy managers that used a top-100 pick on Yelich this spring. Gary Sanchez is in line for the bulk of the reps at designated hitter for now while Yelich is out, though Andrew Vaughn (hand) and Jake Bauers could share first base and DH once Vaughn is healthy.

Placed on IL with groin strain The Brewers placed Yelich on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact The Brewers initially called Yelich's injury hamstring tightness when he was lifted from Sunday's game versus the Nationals. The designation has changed, but regardless it's an injury that will keep Yelich out at least until late April and perhaps longer. While Yelich is sidelined, the Brewers could use a lot of Gary Sanchez in the designated hitter spot.

Impact Yelich beat out a potential double-play grounder during the first inning and didn't get down the line all that well, resulting in him being lifted after he grounded out again in the third frame. The veteran slugger will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery, and at this point it's unclear if a trip to the injured list will be necessary.

Yelich wasn't moving down the line very well, which could indicate he's dealing with a lower-body injury. The Brewers have a team day off Monday, so he'll have a bit of time to recover before missing additional time.
