Andrew Benintendi - Progressing quicker than expected Benintendi (hand) took live batting practice Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "I feel a lot better than I anticipated," Benintendi said after Monday's w...
Impact Benintendi faced pitching for the first time since Feb. 27, when he suffered a non-displaced fracture of the bone on beneath the pinky knuckle on his right hand after Guardians lefty Logan Allen struck him with a pitch. The 30-year-old said that he had been hitting for four or five days before testing himself in a live session Monday, and if he experiences no unexpected pain coming out of the workout, he could be cleared to rejoin the White Sox's Cactus League lineup as a designated hitter Wednesday against the Brewers. At the time he suffered the injury, Benintendi faced an estimated recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks, but he sounds like he'll push to be ready for the March 27 season opener against the Angels, even if the fractured bone hasn't fully healed by then.

Drew Thorpe - Pitching in minor-league game Thorpe (elbow) will make an appearance in a minor-league game Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Impact White Sox pitching coach Ethan Katz said Monday that Thorpe is "responding well" as the team continues the pitcher's slow ramp-up following surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow last September. He will begin the season on the injured list and it's not yet clear how long he might be sidelined.

Josh Rojas - Recovering from big toe fracture The White Sox announced Monday that Rojas has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right big toe, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact The injury prompted Rojas' removal from Saturday's Cactus League game against the Rockies, and while the White Sox haven't provided a concrete timeline for his return, it may take him out of the mix for a spot on the Opening Day roster. If Rojas begins the season on the injured list, the White Sox would have room on the roster for an extra infielder such as Brooks Baldwin, Bryan Ramos, Jacob Amaya or Brandon Drury.

Corey Julks - Loses out on roster spot The White Sox reassigned Julks to minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Outrighted off Chicago's 40-man roster in January, Julks still received an invitation to big-league spring training but was unable to make much of a push for a bench role with the White Sox to open the season. After turning in a .581 OPS in 189 plate appearances with Chicago in 2024, Julks went 6-for-27 (.222 average) with 10 strikeouts over 13 Cactus League games. Julks is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Charlotte.

Zach DeLoach - Sent to minor-league camp The White Sox reassigned DeLoach to minor-league camp Monday.
Impact DeLoach was outrighted off the White Sox's 40-man roster shortly before spring training, but he was still given the chance to compete for a reserve outfield job for the big club during camp. The 26-year-old didn't stand out in the competition, going 3-for-22 with four walks and nine strikeouts in Cactus League play before the White Sox cut him from big-league camp. DeLoach is expected to begin the season at Triple-A Charlotte.
