Diagnosed with hamstring strain Engel was diagnosed with a strained right hamstring Saturday and will undergo further evaluation Sunday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact It's already the second injury of camp for Engel, who missed a few days in early March with ankle inflammation. The severity of this particular issue isn't yet clear, but anything more than a day-to-day injury at this stage of spring would likely send him to the injured list to start the year.

Shines in Friday's start Kelenic corroborated the health of his previously injured right knee on multiple plays during a Cactus League win over the White Sox on Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Impact Kelenic returned to the starting lineup exactly two weeks after suffering a Grade 2 adductor strain and enjoyed an excellent all-around night. In going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run, the prized prospect flashed his wheels by using his speed on each of the three occasions he reached safely overall, leaving no doubt about his return to full health. The multi-hit effort pushed Kelenic's spring average to .333, but general manager Jerry Dipoto said earlier this week the 21-year-old is still likely to head to minor-league spring training or the alternate training site when the Mariners break camp.

Tagged for five runs Friday Gonzales allowed five earned runs on nine hits, a walk and a hit batsman across 4.2 innings in a Cactus League win over the White Sox on Friday. He struck out one.
Impact The right-hander fell just short of his five-inning goal, yet he did actually reach the 75-pitch threshold. The majority of his troubles came over the first two frames, but Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports Gonzales was able to finish on a positive note with a scoreless effort when he came back out for the third inning.
