Ian Happ - Lifts homer Friday Happ went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

Impact Happ has three homers but just four RBI over 19 contests in August. He's hitting just .194 (12-for-62) with a 7:21 BB:K this month. The prolonged struggles at the plate are evident in his career-worst .216 average and .737 OPS, but he's maintained decent power with 21 homers, 23 doubles and 52 RBI across 125 contests. Happ has also logged four stolen bases and 73 runs scored on the year.

Pete Crow-Armstrong - Leadoff homer in loss Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

Impact Crow-Armstrong did some early work, ending the nine-pitch opening at-bat with a homer. This was his career-best 32nd long ball of the season and his fifth over his last five games. The star outfielder is now batting .279 with a .932 OPS, 80 RBI, 91 runs scored, 31 stolen bases, 25 doubles and seven triples over 129 contests. Crow-Armstrong has had a little less consistency in August, batting .260 (20-for-77) over 19 games this month, but he's also hit a quarter of his homers this year in that span.

Impact Bregman homered in the first and ninth innings, ending a seven-game stretch without a long ball. The third baseman's big performance still wasn't enough for the Cubs, but it was a positive to see him get back on track in the power department. For the year, Bregman is batting .258 with a .765 OPS, 18 homers, 66 RBI, 71 runs scored, 24 doubles, one triple and three stolen bases over 126 contests.

Matthew Boyd - No-decision versus Mariners Boyd allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.

Impact Boyd's troubles with the long ball continued -- he gave up one homer, a three-run blast to Cal Raleigh, as the Mariners rallied ahead in the second inning to answer the Cubs' hot start. That's now eight homers allowed in August for Boyd after he allowed just six long balls across his first 12 appearances of the year. The southpaw is at a 4.15 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 71:28 K:BB through 91 innings over 16 games this season. His next start is projected to come in Arizona.
